Global strategy on tackling oral diseases

Resolution WHA74.5 requested WHO to develop in consultation with Member States a draft global strategy on tackling oral diseases for consideration by EB150 and WHA75.

The strategy is to be aligned with the global action plan for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases 2013–2030 and Pillars 1 and 3 of the GPW13. It will inform the development of a global action plan on oral health by 2023, including a framework for tracking progress with clear measurable targets of oral health and well-being to be achieved by 2030.

The process to develop the strategy is detailed on the NCD governance webpage.

As part of the process, WHO is convening a web-based consultation for Member States, UN organizations, and non-State actors on a draft global strategy on oral health (WHO Discussion Paper dated 9 August) from 9 August to 17 September 2021.

Member States, UN organizations and non-State actors are invited to submit their feedback before 17 September 2021 to varenneb@who.int. All relevant feedback received will be published on this website (attributable to the relevant Member State, UN organization or non-State actor) once the web-based consultation is closed (i.e. after the 17 September 2021). Feedback may be submitted in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
