Coronavirus Help

If you need help

If you live near our church, especially in our parish, then our church family would love to be able to help you, given the restrictions in place during the lockdown.

Please call 0121 472 0050 if you need:

  • help with shopping, or collecting supplies
  • help picking up prescriptions
  • someone to talk with on the phone
  • someone to pray with you

We won’t ask for any money in advance, and we certainly won’t ask to come in, so please do not let anyone into your house, or give money until you have received your shopping. You will need to be able to tell us where you live so we can find you.

Can you help to feed Birmingham?

Food boxes and meals for vulnerable isolated people

We are supporting St Germains Church, North Edgbaston, which is preparing and delivering approximately 240 food boxes and 180 meals per week from its kitchen and hall next to the church, to vulnerable and isolated households. This is done by a team of volunteers who are careful to observe social distancing. There is no shortage of demand and nothing is wasted.

Can you contribute some modest supplies to this venture. Listed below are the sort of items that are appreciated.

For food boxes:
Tinned /jar items e.g. Tomatoes, Pasta sauce, Soups, Fish, Meat products, Veg, Beans, FruitDried items e.g. Pasta, Rice, Cereals, Biscuits / cake bars individually wrapped,
Cuppa soups, Pasta/ noodle pots, Porridge pots etc, Tea, Coffee, Long life milk
Ring pull cans are helpful but a bit more expensive
Tin openers

For meal preparation in the hall:
Rice, oil, pasta, tinned tomatoes, sugar, dried fruit

Supplies can be delivered to:
St Germains Church Hall, City Road, B17 8LE on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings 10-12 midday
Or, you can drop off supplies to 103 Bournbrook Road, B29 7BY, or 126 Oakfield Road, B29 7ED, and we will deliver them for you. We can also collect supplies from you if you can’t get out.

If you would like to give money towards the work of St Germain’s you can do so here.
