INDOOR CLIMBING AT PARKFIELD

We provide a range of sessions and courses for all ages that you can attend as a group or individual. Everything from lessons run by qualified instructors to weekly open climbing.

Our indoor climbing wall, Parkfield, is in central Paignton with 18 ropes for both top-roping and lead climbing, offering over 60 climbing routes. The wall has a wide range of climbing grades to excite both complete beginners and expert climbers alike.

You can come just once or make it a regular thing, whatever suits you best. Parkfield Climbing Wall is a welcoming and relaxed venue to challenge yourself and keep fit. You can bring the kids down to learn to climb or have a catch up with your climbing buddy.

Please note we do not have a bouldering facility onsite, but we do have some boulder problems for youth climbing clubs and private sessions.

National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS)

Parkfield Climbing Wall is a NICAS awarding centre. NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) is for those with a head for heights and an eye for knots. It's a "climbing" award which involves using ropes and harnesses. This is usually done with two people, one climbing, and one holding the rope and lowering the climber (the belayer). Belaying techniques are a key part of NICAS.

What is the NICAS award?
Who is it for?
What should I do if i'm interested in giving it a go?
