A French YouTuber caused all sorts of trouble after his bathroom stunt went very, very wrong.

Cyril Schreiner decided to fill his bath with orbeez - silicone balls that expand in water - for his latest online video.

But it didn't exactly go according to plan.

Assuming that he hadn't thought the clean-up process through - or considered scooping them of the bathtub - he decided to pull the plug on the operation - literally.

At which point the jelly balls filled the pipes and started coming back up through the toilet and sink.

It was at this moment Cyril realised he messed up.

Fan @yuqheis created a Twitter thread documenting the events as they unfolded, which has since received more than 800,000 likes and 230,000 retweets.

It was captioned: "This french guy filled his tub with orbeez then had no idea how to get rid of them so he just pulled the plug which resulted in orbeez overflowing both in his toilet and sink."

And Cyril only made matters worse when he started flushing the toilet causing it to overfill.

So, it didn't take long for his entire bathroom to flood.

Seemingly unsure on how to fix the damage he caused, he tried to vacuum them up.

This didn't end well either, when his vacuum cleaner started to smoke and caught alight.

Cyril claimed his entire neighbourhood's sewage system was blocked, saying he received a letter from the town hall saying police were searching for the perpetrator.

But his statement was later shut down by the mayor, who revealed there is no drainage system linking all of the houses in the neighbourhood, suggesting parts of the video were staged.

Most fans were unimpressed, some of which called Cyril out on the staged stunt.

One said: "Man that would wreck the sewage system and cost tens of thousands of dollars".

And another agreed: "But why? Why would you fill the tub with them. I personally would have scooped them out with a bucket into trash bags, assuming I had a tub of them for some reason."

A third said: "Anyone with common sense would know you don’t flush this. He did the whole thing on purpose".
