Last weekend, as Florida residents were panicking over COVID-19, college students seem to scoff at any potential danger by hitting the beach for spring break. Young adults flocked to Fort Lauderdale Beach to enjoy the sun, cold beer, and warm waters. However, in the following days, once the threat of the novel coronavirus grew clear, officials closed the beach, and on the order of Gov. Ron DeSantis bars would be close for the next 30 days.
