The AEM Flex 120 allows customers to choose the exact amount of hydrogen production needed – from 70kW to 120kW per electrolyser – with the possibility to later add production capacity for those who start small. By avoiding oversizing and using cost-efficient AEM technology, this product offers a low-cost option to pilot green hydrogen. Enabling local energy independence with modular green hydrogen solutions – that’s the vision of our partner ostermeier H2ydrogen Solutions GmbH and ... ⬇️ It’s a  perfect match with the Enapter approach! How’s that for a smart hydrogen plant! ⬇️ With our partner Hephas Energy Co., Ltd. we’re sharing insights from decentralised green hydrogen projects in Taiwan and beyond today: In the first HANNOVER MESSE #AEM Talk at our stand C14 in hall 13, Jerry Chen from our Taiwanese partner Hephas Energy Co., Ltd. and Enapter’s Jens Bischoff will share insights from an important showcase for Taiwan’s clean energy development – one that features 20 AEM Electrolysers. Located in Taiwan’s oldest urban area, Tainan, the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City plays a key role in the country’s ambitious energy plans. On a 7.44ha-sized site, they will provide clean energy supply, management, dispatch, and smart energy-saving systems and interfaces to build a demonstration site as a national green energy technology model. Within this facility, the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)(工業技術研究院, 工研院) has a research building with a 1MW photovoltaic system. ITRI is dedicated to research and development in various interdisciplinary fields related to hydrogen energy production and application. Together with Jerry’s team, we have installed 20 AEM EL 4 electrolysers with a capacity of 50kW. Powered by excess solar energy, ITRI produces onsite green hydrogen in a containerised solution. The H2 is then stored at the electrolyser’s output pressure of 35bar in their 500Nm³ storage tanks. Thanks to five of Enapter’s dryers, ITRI uses the green hydrogen with 99.999% purity for research and development in fuel cell technology. Since one of the developmental goals is to implement a smart power dispatching system for the various clean energy components in the project, we’re happy to contribute to this with our in-house Energy Management System (EMS) toolkit. How we’re rolling out multi-megawatts of #AEM Electrolyser capacity in #China at high speed.⬇️ In the recent months, Enapter and the Wolong Electric Group Co., Ltd. not only signed a framework supply contract worth more than EUR 6 million, but also entered into a joint venture (JV) agreement to gain a significant market share in China in the field of AEM electrolysis. Our partner Wolong is one of the world’s top three motor and drive manufacturers and is also active in the renewable energy sector. Through this partnership, the JV will acquire AEM Stacks from Enapter and then produce our AEM Electrolyser products locally in China for the Chinese market. Very recently, we kicked off our JV with engineering workshops at both our facilities in Pisa and Saerbeck. The JV already sold the first AEM EL 4 electrolysers in China and now focuses on Enapter’s multi-core devices, in particular our megawatt-class AEM Nexus 1000. After a very productive start at the Enapter facilities, the team continues with ongoing remote alignments. The overarching team works with urgency and has ambitious goals to make Enapter’s modular and Iridium-free hydrogen solutions competitive in China, delivering the first localised 1MW AEM Nexus 1000 later this year already. This marks an important step in opening up the Chinese market with Enapter’s AEM Electrolyser technology. The response to the JV in China so far has been great and we’ve seen plenty of visitors queuing up at the Wolong and Enapter JV booth at a local fair recently. It’s a record: Enapter received orders in the amount of € 9,287,000 in the first quarter of 2024 ⬇️ Year-on-year, the volume of orders received in Q1 corresponds to an increase of around 730% (PY € 1,270,000). Almost 75% of these orders are for our multi-core electrolyser series. These devices feature multiple #AEM Stacks for optimum reliability and reactivity to fluctuating renewables. While our AEM Flex 120 enables streamlined trialling of green hydrogen production with an output of ~54kg/day, the AEM Nexus 1000 operates in the megawatt range. The remaining share was generated from sales of our single-core electrolyser AEM EL 4. Enapter was able to generate 60% of orders from new customer business, with a majority of orders coming from Europe and the USA. The US orders totaling around € 1.5 million were generated via our American general distributor Clean H2 Inc. The recently purchased AEM Electrolysers will produce green hydrogen for various applications, such as maritime refueling and industrial metalworking.    Our CEO Jürgen Laakmann says: "We are currently gaining more new customers who require green hydrogen in the megawatt range for their industrial production. Many of these new customers also chose our products because they are iridium-free. At the same time, long-standing customers are also placing larger orders for additional projects. This demonstrates that the market is not only growing rapidly but also that our AEM technology fully meets customer requirements in various application areas. We are very grateful to all new and existing customers for the trust they have placed in us and continue to work hard in line with customer requirements to achieve the highest standards of quality in our products." Yanmar is transforming from the inventor of the first small diesel engine to a global green energy player ⬇️ Find out how 28 #AEM Electrolysers are contributing: Osaka-based Yanmar is a pioneer in diesel engine technology and a global player in manufacturing heavy machinery. Founded in 1912, the Japanese giant today counts over 20,000 employees worldwide. Nevertheless, or precisely because of this, they are in the process of fundamentally transforming their business with the Yanmar Green Challenge 2050. A key initiative is their Yanmar Clean Energy Site in Okayama, Japan. The group’s subsidiary YANMAR ENERGY SYSTEM JAPAN has established an impressive 1,000m² testing centre for clean energy technologies. The facility will carry out endurance testing, technical development, and verification tests of clean energy equipment such as hydrogen power generation systems and battery storage, as well as optimising their combined operation. It also acts as a platform for dialogue with customers, fostering collaborative solutions. With the help of 28 #AEM Electrolysers, Yanmar produces onsite green hydrogen. The H2 from the containerised cluster can then be stored in a 285Nm³ tank at the electrolyser’s outlet pressure of 8 bar. Thanks to Enapter’s dryers, the hydrogen is of fuel cell grade quality. The hydrogen is used for various testing purposes for devices that are under in-house development: • A scalable hydrogen fuel cell power generation system that is quiet, emission-free and independent of weather • A hydrogen-mixed combustion engine micro cogeneration system enabling the blend of H2 fuel in city gas • A CHP with a gas engine that generates emission-free energy with 100% clean H2 A proprietary battery system acts as a buffer within the Yanmar Clean Energy Site. The operation of the various energy devices can be controlled and optimised via their Y-EMS energy management system based on weather and energy supply-demand conditions. This was the most frequently asked question she faced.⬇️Learn more about how Enapter solves this challenge: Last week at CERAWeek in Houston, Texas, we met with a lot of existing and new players in hydrogen, from truck manufacturers to ammonia producers. We had plenty of questions about the operational range of our AEM Electrolysers for adapting to and getting the most from fluctuating renewable energy. Two reasons why this is important for our customers: 1️⃣The cost of hydrogen is mainly driven by the cost of electricity In the very vast majority of cases, renewables are the cheapest form of electricity. Thus, highly flexible green hydrogen production is needed to keep up with the fluctuating load curves of renewables. And of course, the use of surplus local renewable energy makes particular economic sense. 2️⃣In many countries, classification as renewable H2 is essential to receive funding Similar to the Delegated Act in the EU, section 45V in the IRA requires "hourly matching” to qualify as renewable hydrogen and be eligible for public funding. This places high demands on the flexibility of electrolysers. At Enapter, we pride ourselves offering AEM Electrolysers with best-in-class operational flexibility. Let’s take the 𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟬 for example: Our 1MW containerised electrolyser features 420 AEM Stack modules around a common balance of plant. The modular system contains 42 AEM Strings, each made of 10 stacks, able to produce 5 Nm3/h and controlled independently. This results in a market-leading operational range of 3-100%. Another fact: Only 2.4% of production stops if a stack failure is detected, so customers benefit from maximum uptime due to an extremely high degree of redundancy. Also, the AEM Nexus 1000 offers rapid reaction times to variable renewables with a hot startup from 0-100% in only 100 seconds. With its five strings, our skid-mounted 𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝟭𝟮𝟬 electrolyser also enables high operational flexibility from 12 to 100% and is therefore likewise perfectly suited to operate with intermittent local renewables. And even our single-core 𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗘𝗟 𝟰 electrolyser is surprisingly much more flexible than you might think at first glance. So even if one AEM EL 4 has “only” 60-100% availability, one can easily double the operational flexibility to 30-100% by adding an extra module – which already beats what many can offer.
