Five things we learned during RE+ in Anaheim, California With 19,000+ participants, the Californian event brought together the modern energy industry to foster a cleaner future for all. This is what we took away: 🗽 In the US, many projects are large in scale. People showed particularly high interest in our megawatt solution, the AEM Multicore. ☀️ There was no focus on one particular application. Discussions with potential partners and customers were around many different use cases, from energy storage to refuelling, power-to-x, ammonia, and other applications. 💰 Regional and central government are implementing support schemes for green hydrogen. Many visitors mentioned this and expect the green H2 business to grow massively. 🆕 We saw a lot of market potential for Enapter. We had the chance to talk to many great existing partners and customers such as HARNYSS, GKN Hydrogen, ElektrikGreen, Hydrogen House Project. However, we have welcomed a lot of new faces (~70%) and introduced them to our unique AEM technology. RE+ was a great opportunity to drive brand awareness. 👋 Always good to meet in person. In addition to the many (existing and potential) partners and customers, Jens Bischoff, Julian Molz and Vaitea Cowan were finally able to welcome our new US colleagues Chris M. Muench and David W. Great personal onboarding and here's to everything to come! We are looking forward to the upcoming fairs and conferences in India, Japan, USA, Germany and Italy. Another great news!👇We received funds supporting the ongoing development of our next generation #AEM Stacks for Enapter’s multi-megawatt products: We have received a grant for our Italian subsidiary Enapter SRL from the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) for the "AEM Technology Next Generation" project for a total amount of € 1,255,373.17. The funds received are to be used for further research and development purposes and the further development of Enapter’s product portfolio. The focus here is on our AEM multi-core electrolyser technology. AEM multi-core technology is used, for example, in the AEM Nexus 1000, a modular electrolyser conainer in the megawatt class. Hundreds of so-called stacks are coupled together to flexibly produce the desired amount of green hydrogen from renewable energy sources – with high efficiency, built-in redundancy and without the use of costly and rare iridium. Last September, we added another member to the Enapter multi-core product family when we officially unveiled the AEM Flex 120 electrolyser. Our new skid-mounted device is designed for rapid, simplified launch of low-cost green hydrogen projects featuring up to 50 AEM Stacks and able to produce ~54kg of H2 per day. The funds now received will be used, among other things, for the further development of the corresponding stacks and the associated patented membrane technology. The project will run for a total of 34 months. Progressive standardisation and mass production of these AEM Stacks, which are optimised in terms of size and performance, will make it possible to generate significant increases in efficiency and, not least, price advantages in hydrogen production. We are grateful for the appreciation and support in expanding our research activities to further drive the energy transition through local green hydrogen production. 3x #AEM Nexus 1000 for Italy: Enapter receives largest single order from Europe to date ⬇️ We have received the next big order for our megawatt-class AEM Nexus 1000 electrolyser. Our large-scale AEM Electrolyser container represents a cost-effective alternative to traditional megawatt-class electrolysers. With 420 modular AEM Stacks, it forms a complete multi-core system capable of producing ~450 kg of hydrogen per day. Thus, the highly efficient AEM Nexus 1000 is particularly suitable for onsite green hydrogen production on an industrial scale. Thanks to its market-leading operational flexibility and reactivity to intermittent renewables as well as the avoidance of costly and rare iridium, customers can plan their further expansion plans reliably and future-proof. Enapter will supply 3 AEM Nexus 1000 units, each with 1 MW, to the logistics company CFFT - Logistics SpA. Among other things, the company operates a harbour near Rome. There, Enapter's multi-core electrolysers will be used in a hydrogen refuelling system and operated with sustainably generated electricity. The order from CFFT is the largest single order from Europe in Enapter's history to date. The contract concluded in Italy has an order volume in the seven-figure euro range and further demonstrates the strong demand in our multi-core electrolysers. “Moving to electrolysis, Enapter’s #AEM technology was the first choice for its flexibility, friendly interface and stability. [...] All the modules and systems were assembled and set up within one week to their full functioning” ⬇️Scroll down to find out how this Taiwanese project aims to support the future scaling of backup & distributed power generation applications: #Taiwan has ambitious plans to become less dependent on fossil fuels. Taoyuan City-based Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd. is a leading global brazed plate heat exchanger manufacturer. The Taiwanese company already entered the hydrogen industry in 2008 and has been specialised in H2 generation reactors, purification and power generation system integration since then. “Moving to electrolysis, Enapter’s #AEM technology was the first choice for its flexibility, friendly interface and stability,” says Victor Hsu, Kaori Ltd.’s Director of Advanced Energy division. The National Formosa University in central Taiwan hosts one of their first AEM Electrolyser projects. The purpose of the project is to pilot and demonstrate the utilisation of renewable energy, green hydrogen and fuel cell power generation to support the future scale-up of backup and distributed power generation applications. Supplied by excess renewables from a 9kW PV system and 3kW of wind power, an AEM Electrolyser system produces onsite green hydrogen once the battery as a short-term storage is fully loaded. An Enapter dryer ensures fuel cell grade H2 purity of 99.999%. The produced hydrogen is then stored at the electrolyser’s outlet pressure of up to 35 bar and can be converted back into electricity using a 5kW fuel cell. The system can be controlled via local HMI but also remotely. “All the modules and systems were assembled and set up within one week to their full functioning,” adds Victor Hsu from KAORI - Go For Sustainable Future. At Enapter, we admire and also live this mentality of acting with urgency to drive forward the energy transition. We’re impressed by the great interest in our new #AEM Flex 120 electrolyser – the requests keep coming in for a wide range of application areas👇 Last September, we officially unveiled our first commercial AEM Flex 120 electrolyser at our Enapter Campus in Saerbeck, Germany. Since then, Enapter has experienced very high demand and already received orders for a total of 27 units from Europe, Asia and Africa. With the 𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝟭𝟮𝟬, we’re addressing the market gap between the single-core AEM EL 4 (1 kg/day) and our megawatt-scale AEM Nexus 1000 electrolyser (450 kg/day). The AEM Flex 120 is designed for rapid, simplified launch of low-cost green hydrogen projects: • Featuring up to 50 AEM Stack core modules • Modular design providing for built-in redundancy • High reactivity to fluctuating renewables • Producing ~54kg of green hydrogen/day • H2 at 99.999% purity with optional dryer • Can meet H2 production demands ranging from 70-480 kW German brick producer ABC-Klinkergruppe is our first customer for the AEM Flex 120, being one of the many companies using natural gas for “process heat” in their production furnaces. They opted for the AEM Flex 120 to counter natural gas price fluctuations by piloting their production and use of cost-effective clean hydrogen gas at short notice. ABC Klinker will start to decarbonise their activities by blending locally produced green hydrogen into their furnace gas mix. The AEM Flex 120 allows customers to choose the exact amount of hydrogen production needed – from 70kW to 120kW per electrolyser – with the possibility to later add production capacity for those who start small. By avoiding oversizing and using cost-efficient AEM technology, this product offers a low-cost option to pilot green hydrogen. The skid-mounted product is designed for simple and rapid integration into customer environments. Using Enapter’s energy management software, hydrogen production, storage and transmission can be monitored automatically and remotely. This ensures the efficient use of available energy, a reliable hydrogen supply and minimised maintenance. Our latest visit to #Japan brought a great confirmation of our strong growth in many Asian markets.⬇️Here’s our H2 & FC Expo Recap from #Tokyo: First things first, we have to admit we’re really impressed with this event. Compared to other well-known trade fairs, the hydrogen exhibition area at #FCexpo is huge. Located at Tokyo Big Sight, it’s also an impressive location. A lot of long-standing customers and partners from across Asia stopped by our booth. Our joint projects range from smaller kW applications for universities to MW-sized installations. We were particularly delighted to see strong local players like Enoah Inc. and Mikuni Kikai Kogyo Co., Ltd. featuring our AEM Electrolysers at their booths – and our CEO Jürgen Laakmann signed an extensive partner agreement with the latter. In our conversations with new connections, we were pleased to hear that #AEM is widely regarded as the future of electrolysis. Our colleagues didn’t have to explain the technology to a majority of our visitors, which is great. #AEM is the most promising technology for bringing down the cost of electrolysis because it combines low stack material cost with low balance of plant complexity and cost. Extensive avoidance of expensive noble metal catalysts and lack of costly titanium also pays off in comparison to PEM electrolysis. With a 15 years+ track record and 3,700+ units delivered worldwide, Enapter is the commercial leader in AEM electrolysis for onsite green hydrogen production. In order to be less dependent on imports, countries like Japan have ambitious plans to establish a decentralised production of hydrogen from renewable sources. That’s why see saw an increasing interest in our modular devices, particularly the AEM EL 4. Our scalable AEM Electrolysers from 2.4kW to 1MW are best-in-class to quickly pilot, prove and eventually scale H2 projects.
