At Home in Scott County  is a mini-documentary series filmed and produced by University of Minnesota freshman students – under the supervision of Lorenzo Fabbri and Fred Kuwornu. It was developed within the undergraduate seminar “Community, Media, Activism” which Fred and Lorenzo co-taught at the University in Minnesota in Fall 2019.

An innovative example of public humanities integrating experiential learning and community service, the series features clients of the Scott County Community Development Agency. By telling their stories, these documentaries amplify the need for affordable housing and promote the housing assistance programs that the CDA offers.

As the United Nations has recently established, housing is a right and not a commodity. Therefore, At Home at Scott County asks, what can we do to protect the human right to adequate housing?
