Linking Universities and
Businesses to Schools

Welcome to Channel Talent

Channel Talent is a live and interactive video conferencing / webinar service which links universities and businesses to schools. Channel Talent beams university lecturers, admissions personnel, university students and apprentices into the school classroom in addition to including individual students. We ensure that formats are entirely flexible to enable students to take part, whether they are in school or not. We also enable teachers and school staff to take part with their students and use the events as extended reading, enrichment and group discussion opportunities.

Channel Talent aims to inform and inspire young people’s choices about their education and careers by making important conversations possible that, for time, cost and logistical reasons, are often prevented from happening face to face. Events are free to schools and sponsored by individual universities or businesses.

Using simple pc-based technology, video conferencing equipment, or handheld devices, a range of universities and businesses now delivers talks, lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and career advice to an ever expanding network of schools. The sessions are not intended to replace face to face but are designed to complement wider strategic school engagement programmes.

Channel Talent travels digital miles to support organisations’ environmental responsibilities. We were originally set up as an outreach initiative by Bedford School with the University of Sheffield and the Sutton Trust. If you are a school, college, university or business, please contact Channel Talent to get involved or to find out more.
