The SNS and NordGen Forest joint call for scholarships is open
If you are in the field of forest seed or plant production, regeneration methods or tree breeding, this is your chance! The call for SNS and NordGen Forest scholarship is open for applications between December 15–February 15.
Your project or activity must be relevant in a Nordic setting and contribute to a common Nordic benefit. You can apply for maximum 25 000 NOK.
The grant can be used for travelling costs, accomodation, conference fees, printing your thesis, equipment, laboratory expenses or something else that contributes to the Nordic forest sector in one way or the other. Use the link below for all requirements!
Therése was granted and participated in a conference
Therése Strömvall Nyberg was granted with the SNS and NordGen scholarship 2021. She used the grant for an international conference in her area of interest. She tells about the networking, knowledge exchange and broadened perspectives it gives to get some insight in the conditions in other countries.
Bishnu was granted
for his thesis in Ash Dieback
Bishnu Timilsina was one of the beneficiaries of the SNS and NordGen scholarship 2021. He is a researcher in Ash Dieback in Norway and have used the grant for his master thesis. He explains why we have to save the Ash from the very deadly disease, and in what way his work will contribute to that.

Thanks to all participants of our celebration! We had a great day with a lot of interaction between people in different parts of the forest sector. We also got to know more about gender, the mysteries of the forest and the future of SNS.

Networking expands your professional network and creates synergies
Professor Raija Laiho, LUKE, Finland, coordinator of the SNS funded network CAR-ES, sees great benefits for researchers to meet and exchange across borders of the Nordic countries. SNS networks have an impact on how the Nordic forest research develops!

The Nordic Conference in Reindeer Husbandry 2022 was successful
SNS's sister organisation in agricultural research, NKJ, has organised a conference in reindeer husbandry. The focus was predators and climate change and their impacts on reindeer husbandry in the Nordic countries.
