Online Workshop, August 23th to 26th 2022 (15:00-18:00 CEST)

Registration and Abstract submission for poster before June 15th 2022

We are pleased to announce that the 8th ILRD workshop, initially planned on May 26-27th, 2020, Rennes, France, will be held online on August 23-26th, 2022. The workshop is organized by the Institute for Genetics, Environment and Plant Protection (IGEPP), a joint research unit consisting of INRAE, L’Institut Agro Rennes -Angers and the University of Rennes 1, and Terres Inovia, the French technical institute of oilseed and protein crops.

Root diseases are economically important in legumes, affecting large areas of crop production in many countries worldwide. Root rots, caused by Aphanomyces euteiches, Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium species and wilts, caused by several formae speciales of Fusarium oxysporum, are the most destructive soil-borne diseases of cultivated legumes such as pea, chickpea, lentil, soybean, bean, faba bean, lupin, alfalfa.

The objectives of the workshop will be to:

  • Report recent advances of science on root diseases of legumes
  • Gather the research community and stimulate exchanges

The scientific program will include sessions about:

  • Survey, occurrence and epidemiology
  • Pathogen biology, population genetics & genomics
  • Plant-pathogen and pathogen-soil micro-organisms interactions
  • Plant genetics, genomics and breeding for resistance
  • Integrated disease management

The workshop will include Keynote oral presentations, short oral communications and poster presentations. Participation of junior researchers (PhD, Post-doc) is expected and encouraged.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge!

The meetings of the International Legume Root Diseases workshop were launched in 2002 in Rennes, France, by the initiative of scientists and professionals from France and the USA. They aimed to promote the international dissemination and discussion of the most recent research results and achievements of the science on legume root diseases. They also aimed to support the scientific community and help the breeders and stakeholders with applications and partnership.

Previous workshops:

  • 2002 Rennes, France
  • 2003 Pasco, WA, USA
  • 2007 Rennes, France
  • 2009 Pullman, WA, USA
  • 2014 Saskatoon, Canada
  • 2015 Niagara Falls, NY, USA
