Fibersail is a shape sensing system for condition monitoring of critical structures based on fiber optic technology. It aims to improve wind turbines efficiency, prevent failures and reduce maintenance costs allowing operators to increase profit of Wind turbines.Relating the shape measurements from wind turbine blades and the surrounding weather conditions we can have a more precise knowledge about the condition and behavior of blades, helping O&M and Manufacturers on developing and maintaining more efficient turbines.
