The temporary sections of the Communicable Diseases Act concerning COVID-19 certificates required when arriving in Finland are no longer in force. Entry into Finland will work in the same manner as before the coronavirus pandemic.

Please note that other countries may still restrict travel and entry due to the coronavirus pandemic. In some countries, negative coronavirus test results or certificates of received vaccines may be required. If you are travelling abroad, check with the authorities of your destination, such as the nearest diplomatic mission of the country in question, for any up-to-date restrictions on your travel well in advance.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs maintains country-specific travel advisories.

Rapid changes in the pandemic situation are still possible. This is why we recommend that all those who travel abroad should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before leaving the country. All coronavirus vaccines used in Finland provide good protection against severe forms of coronavirus disease.

The  Regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate will expire on 30 June 2023

The  Regulation on the EU Digital COVID Certificate will expire on 30 June 2023. People can still get the EU Digital COVID Certificate from the MyKanta online service if they need one.

At present, the Certificate is not, as a rule, required for travel purposes. However, it may be required for certain destinations. Before travelling, people should check what COVID-19 restrictions and requirements are in place in their country of destination. Finland does not require COVID-19 certificates.
