The Electoral Commission invites you to public hearings into the draft regulations for the Political Party Funding Act (Act 6 of 2018) which will be held on 1 and 2 August 2019 in Parliament, Cape Town.

The draft regulations were published for written comments in March 2019, during which the process yielded approximately 4300 written submissions being received.

▪ to prohibit certain donations made directly to political parties;
▪ to regulate disclosure of donations accepted;
▪ to determine the duties of political parties in respect of funding;
▪ to provide for powers and duties of the Commission;
▪ to provide for administration fines;
▪ to repeal the Represented Political Parties Funding Act, 1997, and
▪ to provide for transitional matters.
