Adare Public Realm Plan Pre-Draft Consultation

Closed8 Mar, 2022, 10:00am - 21 Mar, 2022, 12:00pm

Pre-draft Presentation of the Adare Public Realm Plan

Limerick City and County Council have identified the need to develop and deliver a Public Realm Plan for the most effective presentation, management & development of the public streets and spaces for the village of Adare. The plan will indicate, in broad terms the role of the public realm including key urban spaces, pedestrian priority linkages and streetscape enhancement for the village. It is expected that the plan will deliver a shared vision for the future development and evolution of Adare. The plan will be used as a key tool to guide and prompt future public and private investment in the village.

REDscape Landscape & Urbanism (https://www.redscape.nl/) are the appointed consultants tasked with the delivery of the Public Realm plan. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table having completed similar masterplans for the Main Street & Church Square in Hoogeveen (NL), Dublin North Port Greenway (IRE), The Grand Canal Dock & and North Lotts Dublin (IRE), The Askeaton Public Realm Masterplan (IRE), Bruff Masterplan (IRE) etc.

In order to inform the design process Limerick City & County Council would like to invite you a make comments on a recent online presentation of the pre-draft Adare Public Realm Plan that was delivered by Patrick McCabe on 28th February 2022. This presentation is available to view via the video link below.

All comments submitted (before 12 noon on Monday 21st March 2022) will be reviewed and following this a draft edition of the Adare Public Realm Plan will be published on the https://mypoint.limerick.ie/ website for comment on the 24th of March 2022.

Limerick City and County Council will hold an exhibition of the draft public realm plan document in Adare Village Hall on Thursday the 24th of March from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Both LCCC staff members and the consultant, Patrick McCabe (REDscape), will be present in the Village hall to answer any questions you might have in relation to the plan throughout the day.

A people-focused approach is extremely important to the successful delivery of this project. Any interested party who wishes to attend this exhibition of the draft public realm plan is welcome as we wish to work together with all community groups, communities of interest, businesses and residents within the Village.
