Good afternoon,

We have a few project updates to share:

Upcoming Public Consultation Meeting

As part of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project, an 85-100’ wide landscaped perimeter is part of the US Port of Entry (POE) site design. This green space will provide public benefit with native pollinator- positive plantings, and a public multi-use path that will connect Campbell and Green Streets by running along the US POE Wall parallel to Jefferson Avenue. The Jefferson Wall is an opaque, 8’ high, non- climbable security wall that will have an aesthetic treatment on the public side facing Jefferson Avenue. It will reflect design cues, colors, and materials from nearby historic Fort Wayne. Three wall design alternatives have been presented by Bridging North America and are open for input from the US community until October 31, 2019.

Join us at a Public Consultation Meeting at the WDBA Southwest Detroit Community Office on October 29, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to learn more about the options and vote on your favourite US Port of Entry barrier wall design. The meeting is open-house format. Read the public notice or vote online.
Reminder - Michigan Interchange Bridge Closures
On October 21, 2019, Bridging North America began implementing long-term closures at three I-75 road bridges: Springwells Street, Livernois Avenue, and Clark Street in preparation for upcoming bridge demolition and reconstruction. The following road bridges will remain open for the duration of this work: Green Street, Waterman Street, Dragoon Street, Junction Avenue and West Grand Boulevard.
