Welcome

This is the 6th and last TRANSFORM-CE newsletter with news and progress of this 3-year project, where we transform single use plastic into new valuable products for a circular economy. In this issue, you will find information on Educational packs, the launch of the Navigation Tool and our last Transnational Meeting in Manchester.

Educational packs

TRANSFORM-CE has developed educational programs for primary and secondary schools to learn about the collection, treatment and recycling of plastic waste. Through these educational programs schools get the opportunity to use the teaching materials about plastic recycling.

The lesson plans consist of classroom lessons for primary school children aged 10-12 years and secondary school children aged 12-14 years. They also include interactive assignments, visual materials on the plastic recycling process, and a teacher’s manual. Depending on the location of the schools, additional activities such as visits to relevant companies may also be options.

Navigation Tool

The Navigation Tool – that recently has been developed - is guiding through the findings of the TRANSFORM-CE project. The insights of the project are integrated in this tool to provide wider businesses with the 'know-how' necessary to replicate an up-scale the developed solutions.

The information in this tool will help organisations along the value chain with the uptake of recycled materials, using IEM and AM technologies. Throughout the document:

  • you can find links to our project reports and publications
  • find contact details of our partners if you wish to contact them for questions or possible collaborations
  • learn how to use recycled plastic with IEM and AM technologies
  • discover application possibilities for recycled plastic
  • get inspired by best practises and examples of support and tests provided to other businesses.

Transnational Meeting

On 20th April the last official TRANSFORM-CE partner meeting was held in Manchester at Manchester Metropolitan University. In this project we worked with dozens of international partners to recycle high-value and low-value household plastic waste streams. The Green Plastic Factory (NL) recycled household foils and the test facilities in Manchester (UK) and Mons (BE) recycled high-grade plastics as filament for 3D printers. We are proud of all the partners who worked extremely hard on over 100 deliverables.

End of the project

This is the last newsletter as the project has come to an end. Nevertheless all our partners will be continuing working on solutions for single use plastic and more. On the TRANSFORM-CE website you will find all the information, results, findings and products of the project. Also contact details of the partners if you wish to contact them.
