Dear reader,
Welcome to the second IP4MaaS newsletter. Our focus in this edition is on the first IP4MaaS demo, which took place this summer in Athens. Despite the challenging conditions, made more complicated by the increase of COVID-19 cases Europe-wide and an unprecedented heatwave in Greece, our demo team managed to engage many users, kicking off the IP4MaaS journey towards advancing the uptake of MaaS in Europe. Multiple IP4 functionalities have been tested, including the location based experiences (LBE), a tool supporting users to get information on points of interest around them in a very innovative way.
Alongside the demo, we’ll share interesting insights on another important activity, the analysis of travellers’ needs and expectations. This has been done through a conversational survey and the so called “Opinion mining technique”, a tool allowing the performance of a sentiment analysis based on Tweets and posts on social media.
We wish you a good reading!

Exploring attitudes on public transport: IP4MaaS completes opinion mining task
Social media provide great opportunity to analyse the public opinion related to any product, service or solution. The main goal of the IP4MaaS project, which is to advance the uptake of MaaS schemes, could not be achieved by focusing only on already developed (or soon to be developed) technologies. To truly cater to the needs and wishes of MaaS users, it is crucial to get insights into the public opinion on MaaS. To obtain these insights, IP4MaaS partner Mosaic Factor has performed a so-called sentiment and emotion analysis via social media.

Now, the project has investigated passengers’ needs and requirements concerning travel apps through a survey held among more than 1,000 people.
