OUR VOICES WERE HEARD BY THE FORD GOVERNMENT

"We will not force amalgamation of municipalities. We will not impose cuts on municipal councils," [Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing] Clark said. "I want to make it perfectly clear: We will not be imposing these changes on our municipal partners."

We Love Oakville would like to thank everyone who supported our campaign to oppose unilateral decisions by the Ford Government that would have resulted in higher taxes, service reductions, and the loss of our local voice:
  • The record number of more than 4,100 citizens who sent letters.
  • The residents who supported our campaign with donations, posted lawn signs, and shared our message.
  • The many volunteers who generously shared their time.
  • Mayor Rob Burton, the Oakville Town Council and Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr.
  • Our neighbours to the west, We Love Burlington.
Unspent funds from this campaign will be donated to the United Way to support initiatives in Oakville.

We are pleased with the outcome of this campaign and will continue to ensure that our local voices are heard in the future on such issues that affect our town and its citizens.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead)

THANK YOU OAKVILLE. TOGETHER OUR VOICES MADE A DIFFERENCE.
