On 14 March 2024, international organisations representing authors, publishers, booksellers and libraries issued a joint statement underlining the essential and interconnected nature of the freedom of expression and the freedoms to read and publish, and urging governments and citizens to ensure these freedoms are respected in law and in practice. We will gather signatures throughout 2024 as part of a series of events.
