El Dorado Delegation Appointed Leadership Application Form
All Family Leader Applicants must complete this form by 11:59pm on Monday, February 24 2020.

Available positions include: Family Leader (10-12 selected based on delegation enrollment); Leadership Opportunity Manager; and Community Service Chair. We are also inviting proposed additional leadership positions.

Applicants must be delegates in good standing who are committed to returning for the 2020-21 program year.

Officers are expected to attend the Delegation Leadership Retreat on June 27, 2020 and CapCo Field Day on September 26, 2020.

GENERAL LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
All delegation leaders are expected to:
Demonstrate the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
Attend all delegation meetings
    o Must provide at least 24 hours notice for required absences.
Attend Training & Elections Conferences I and II and the Model Legislature & Court (Sac Conference)
Attend weekly officer meetings
Dedicate at least 2 hours each week outside of delegation meetings to delegation business
Serve as a positive role model for delegates in and out of meetings by living delegation and YMCA values
Learn the names of all delegates and advisors
Assist with fundraising activities
Maintain a calendar with internal and program deadlines
Encourage delegation participation and foster leadership potential by delegating tasks as practicable
Check email daily for communication from advisors and other delegates
Be familiar with Parliamentary Procedure
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with all elected delegation leaders for the betterment of the delegation
Serve as ambassadors of our delegation to other delegations and advisors
Family Leader
Special additional duties of Family Leader:
Purpose: Assists delegation officers by encouraging delegate engagement in program and delegation events.
Special qualifications: must be a returning delegate; may not be an elected officer
Assists Vice President in organizing and executing delegation legislation program
Assists Vice President in coordinating Bill Hearing Night
Assists Secretary with communicating important dates and deadlines to family members
Assists Secretary with tacking delegate point totals
Assists Chief Fundraising Officer by encouraging and tracking delegate participation in fundraisers
Assists the Chaplain by encouraging delegate participation in cheers and spirit activities
Assists the Sergeant-at-Arms by setting a positive behavioral example for family members
Assists the Forum Representative by serving as a mentor for forum and other new delegates
Assists the family group advisor in distributing information and coordinating family group related activities

Leadership Opportunity Manager (Campaign Manager)
Purpose: Assists delegation officers and advisors by serving as a resource for those interested in elected or appointed leadership.
Special qualifications: must be a returning delegate
Assists Leadership Special Resources Advisor in coordinating the applications of those interested in elected or appointed leadership or special application program areas (including MUN Secretariat, NJC, CONA, and the Intern Program)
Assists Secretary and Family Leaders by communicating program application deadlines
Serves as a delegation resource by learning about leadership opportunities, qualifications, and duties
Assists President in the administration of delegation-level elections
Assists appointed leadership and special program applicants prepare for interviews

Community Service Chair
Purpose: Assists Secretary by planning and executing Community Service events and projects.
Works with Secretary, officer team, and advisors to set service calendar for the program year
Researches service opportunities
Communicates service opportunity dates to the Secretary for dissemination to delegation
Tracks delegation service opportunity participants and hours
Assists Family Leaders with points tracking
Monitors compliance with Delegation of Distinction criteria

Proposed New Leadership Roles
If you have observed set of duties that you believe someone should be responsible for within the delegation that will help our delegation/coalition provide a more impactful experience for delegates, better empower all delegates to live their values; or otherwise positively impact the community, now is your chance to propose the creation of a new leadership position to the officer team. We cannot guarantee your proposal will be adopted, but your input is appreciated!
