It’s Official, Vail Resorts Closes Its Acquisition
Well, it’s official, Vail Resorts closes its acquisition of three new resorts, including Crested Butte Mountain Resort. It was announced early Thursday morning, September 27th, that Vail Resorts, Inc. has closed on it’s acquisition of Triple Peaks, LLC which was owned by the Mueller family. The final purchase price for the acquisition of Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont, Mount Sunapee Resort in New Hampshire and Crested Butte Mountain Resort here in Crested Butte was approximately $74 million. As part of the sale, Triple Peaks then paid off $155 million in leases that the three resorts held with Ski Resort Holdings, LLC.
Now with Crested Butte Mountain Resort a part of the Vail Resorts’ Colorado network, pass holders will have access to up to seven Colorado resorts including Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Keystone, Telluride and Vail. The 2018-19 Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass and Military Epic Pass will now also include unlimited access to Crested Butte Mountain Resort as well as Okemo Mountain Resort and Mount Sunapee Resort. Pre-existing season passes for the 2018-19 season will continue to be offered throughout the fall sales season for Crested Butte, Mount Sunapee, Okemo and Stevens Pass.
