Cade Brothers #3

Seducing Bran

Rate this book
The wrong brother…

Ireland needs a fresh start, and her cousin convinces her to take a chance on a charismatic bad-boy with a wicked boat and a killer body. But when Ireland shows up for the popular Lake Tahoe booze cruise he runs, she finds his handsome older brother at the helm instead.

Bran likes things structured and predictable. Especially after the mistakes he made ten years ago. But his father’s recent passing threw his calm life into chaos, and now Bran is in charge of the family’s five-star restaurants. He’s been grasping to get things back to status-quo ever since.

He has no idea how much more complicated life will get.

Flame-haired Ireland is exactly the type of beautiful woman Bran has programed himself to avoid. But when she falls into his lap on a booze cruise his brother asked him to cover, the boat isn’t the only thing tossed by the water. Bran’s heart goes overboard as well.

Headstrong Ireland is nothing Bran wants, and everything he needs.

Seducing Bran is the 3rd book in the Cade Brothers series from Jules Barnard and even though there are characters from previous books, it is a standalone read and very much an enjoyable story as a standalone.
Bran kept his emotions and his sex life completely away from his brothers and everyone else so they couldn't nose around. He was known as "The Monk". He had rules in place to keep him definitely on the straight and narrow, but then Bran meets her- Ireland and things changed completely.
The dynamic between Bran and Ireland is filled with sexual tension and witty banter. It's only when they finally let their guards down to really open up and enjoy the mutal attraction that they find out how good they feel to be with one another ; that is, until the past comes back to taunt Bran pops back up. This book is extremely written with an fast paced storyline and entertaining and intriguing characters. I definitely recommend book 3 in the Cade Bros series.

Bran really is just handsy with his woman most of the time:
“You like to prop me up on things— desks, counters.”
“I’d prefer a bed, but this will do.”
Sometimes Bran has a one track mind, “and now I’m considering throwing you on the recliner and having my way with you.” I liked this book, I loved Bran

A first read by this author and I am fairly pleased with the results. Seducing Bran was a quickly paced romance, but not too quick as to forgo the details I enjoy within a story. With this being my first by this author and the third in a series, as well as interconnected to her other series', I was impressed by how well it stood on its own. I was not left wanting or confused in the details surrounding Bran and his brothers. To me, that is the deft of an organized writer. Bottom line, this was a realistic and sweet romance that leaves a reader wanting to learn more about this family. I'm just sorry I hadn't started the series sooner.

Bran is the most controlled of the Cade brothers. They call him monk because he doesn't date or seem to have any interest in women. But then gorgeous, curvy Ireland comes into his life and suddenly his famous control is deserting him, which irritates him to no end, making him even grumpier.

Ireland is living in Tahoe, glad to be away from the sleazy men in Silicon Valley who made her life and job so miserable. She's a top notch programmer and being here in Tahoe gives her peace. The men don't treat her like she's an idiot or less competent, and she loves it. Except for Bran, manager of the restaurants at the resorts. He's so cold and rude toward her and she has no idea why. Little does she know it's because he's so attracted to her. Thank God for the matchmaking skills of her cousin, Cali, and for a little cruise that Bran and Ireland end up taking together. But when Bran's past comes back to haunt him, will he let it rule his actions and break Ireland's heart? Or will he man up and let her know how he really feels about her?

I have to say this is my least favorite of this series so far. Bran was so cold to poor Ireland that I really felt for her. Even when he finally admitted how he felt about her, I was still cringing because I didn't really believe him. I didn't feel their connection, never saw the passion in the other stories I've read in this series. Thank God for adorable Ireland or this would have been a 2 or 3 star review for sure.

4.5 Sweet & Steamy Stars!
I absolutely adored this funny, sweet, heartwarming and very sexy romance! Ireland is new to Lake Tahoe, looking for a fresh start from an awful work environment. She is a clumsy, awkward, beautiful computer programming expert. She had tried to be nice to Bran when she met him but her beauty sent up red flags to him and he was a complete jerk. He has rules against dating beautiful women so that he can stay unaffected and prove to his family that he can take care of the family business. But when Bran needs Ireland's help at work, all rules fly out the window as he spends time with this fiery, intelligent redhead. Ireland isn't going to be treated badly anymore, so she is not about to fall easily for Bran's charms. But their connection is electric from the start and they can't deny their feelings. When someone is out to hurt both of them, will they have what it takes to make it last? This was a charming, breathtaking, sexy story that kept me totally engaged from start to finish. Ms Barnard has created another fun story with genuine and honest characters, witty banter and steamy passion. I enjoyed catching up with friends and family from past books. I really love these Cade brothers and can't wait for Hunt's book next!

The events of our past shape us into who we are, but they do not define who are meant to be. Seducing Bran is a reminder that a rush to judgment can have costly results. Bran and Ireland are stuck in the bad choices of the past. Can they help each other break the cycle? Barnard tackles serious subjects like sexism and self - doubt while casting a spell on a reader's heart. Ireland and Bran are caught in the middle of a battle of wills that could have dangerous repercussions for more than just their hearts. Jules Barnard spins a toe - curling, spine tingling romance that proves too irresistible to pass up.

Bran and Ireland make for an interesting couple. After the ordeals Ireland has had at various tech companies, she wanted a new avenue for her skills and the casinos provided that for her. Bran and his brothers ran a resort, and he was over the restaurants. When he purchased an upgrade for their takeout orders, and it went on the outs he had no choice but to hire Ireland to get it up and running after the original programmer couldn't do it. Spending all of that time with Ireland put his feelings for her up close and personal for Bran. Will he be able to handle the closeness and keep it professional. In what world is a 5'8", 140 lb woman curvrey? If it weren't for the story line, I would have given up on these books. Why are all the women so irrational? 😕

The Monk has lost his title and finally been taken down. Bran kept his emotions and his sex life away from his brothers and everyone else too. He had rules in place to keep him firmly on the straight and narrow, then he met Ireland. She made him break all his rules and want so much more, but come on he's a Cade so you know it can't be easy. Between things happening with the new software and things not staying in his neat little cage Bran has the fight of his life ahead of him and it doesn't involve his brothers. Ireland on the other hand is brilliant, sweet and made horrible choices in men and with Bran going hot and cold, yeah she has some baggage too.

I love the Cade brothers and the wonderful, strong and feisty women who keep them strong and call them on their crap. This is a great series and yeah Bran was my favorite to watch fall head over heels.

I was actually excited for Bran's story though I was not sure if I was going to like Ireland or not. Turns out I'm on the fence about both.

I really didn't like the stereotypes set forth in this story: Ireland's former work people, the rudeness the main characters talked about "the geeks", the glasses issue when Ireland wore them and when she didn't

I also had a lot of problems with the assumption that she could just take over the IT/coding problem. NO business, ABSOLUTELY NO business would have let her help and do what she did. That was too much suspension of belief for me.

I wanted to like this one and honestly I was wanting a more quiet shy girl for this group, but that was not what we got. I was actually a little confused as to what personality Ireland was going to have from chapter to chapter.

This was another good read in this series. Bran and Ireland were perfect for each other. Needless to say they both have a problem with choosing losers to date. Thankfully in the end they decide to give each other a shot. They both deserved their HEA.

Bran Cade is called "The Monk" by his brothers. He has certain "rules" he lives by to keep himself out of trouble. He has his reasons for doing so because he has been in trouble in the past and he got scarred by what happened. Everything goes awry when Ireland shows up at his resort. At first, he does everything in his power to keep her at a distance, to the point she truly believes he dislikes her. Oh, poor Bran... he wasn't expecting the clumsy (she can't see without her glasses, which she never wears), red-haired, computer nerd to be so irresistible.

When Ireland meets Bran, she's very attracted to the broody Cade, but if there is one thing she won't tolerate in her life anymore is being mistreated, dismissed or not taken seriously.. and Bran seems to check the last two items monumentally. Their relationship has a rocky start as Bran apparently wrote the book on being dismissive.

When a major screw up with the restaurant's delivery ordering software happens, Ireland comes to the rescue and their relationship fall into a nice, sweet pace... until something happens that sends Bran right back into his reserved and detached mode. But now Ireland's had it. No, thank you, she doesn't have time to waste on men like that. Will she take him back when he admits he royally screwed up?

In this installment, the characters are a little more fleshed out than in the previous ones, but the problem lies in the fact that there are so many secondary characters whose stories I feel like I should know about and it's a tad annoying. Ireland's cousin is such a big part of the book and it feels like we should have met her before and know what's going on with her fiancé and their wedding. Oh well..

Once more, Zachary Webber and Susannah Jones save the day. They truly give these characters life, especially when we are listening to their inner monologues, which are hilarious.

I keep telling you guys - good narration can really elevate a book. Just sayin'

The Cade brothers are a force to be reckoned with. But Bran and Hunter are the only single ones and Bran has every intention on remaining so. Bran and his brothers own a resort, left to them by their father. It has brought them together and they have every intention of turning it into a successful business. Bran is in charge of the four restaurants and seems to be having a problem with the software program. Ireland has moved to be close to her best friend and to help her with her wedding arrangements. She is also a very talented software programmer. Her friend seems to think that setting Ireland and Bran up on a date – or rather a non-date will have cupid shooting his bow their way. But Bran is rude and obnoxious, while Ireland is embarrassed about her glasses and tends to forget to put them on, making her come across as clumsy and at times desperate. After a terrible non-date, Ireland has no intention of every going anywhere near Bran again. That is until his software malfunctions and she is asked to help. But what she finds is more alarming and when she confronts Bran, he starts to see the real woman in front of him. Is he willing to take a chance on her, or will the past come back to haunt him? Can Ireland forgive this bad-tempered man, who seems to surmise before having all the information? Overall I found this to be a slow burn romance with enough drama and suspense to keep me turning the pages. The romance is a mix of laugh out loud moments, sweet steamy romance and overall a good story with plenty of plot and rising climax, as well as fully rounded and complex characters.

I recieved this book as an ARC in exchange for a VOLUNTARY and honest review.

I really loved reading this book even though I started out hating Bran for his Pigheaded, assuming attitude towards Ireland who didn't do anything to deserve his judgments and attitude. But, as I continued reading, having the storyline progress perfectly by the way, my heart began to melt for Bran, just as Ireland's had. It got to be so consuming I couldn't and didn't want to just put the book down for anything (including sleep).

The storyline and all the characters were well thoughtout and written really well. Bran and Ireland's emotions were felt through every word and their relationship and the events around them seemed so realistic (even with the few cheesy bits). I also enjoyed the added background story, that was woven in into Bran and Ireland's story really well, of Cali and Jaeg's wedding planning and ceramony. I'm really happy with how the author also tied up all the loose ends, like Bran and his father's disconnect... There were no conflicts unresolved, no matter how little they were, at the end. And the couple of openings for future books were also woven in really well, which left me wondering how they might work out... So looking forward to the next book(s) in the Cade Brother's series and any that might be a side story this series.

Overall, definitely a great read worth getting for some relaxing entertainment... Would recommend for anyone looking for a Heart Throbbing, All Consuming Romance.

Bran Cade runs the resturants in the resort he and his 4 brothers own. He has strict rules about dating he doesn't. He has occasional hooks ups but even that he has rules about. He certainly does not want anything to do with the red headed vision who keeps bumping into him. The fact her cousin is his best friend's fiancee so they are thrown together laterally at every opportunity is beyond a joke.
Ireland liked Bran but he seems to dislike her, doing everything he can to avoid her, she has no idea why.
Ireland is a computer wiz unfortunately in a man's world she is constantly belittled or talked down to, she hates and does not handle confrontations well.
When Bran's convinces his brothers to buy an expensive new computer system. He is sure it.will help the business. Unfortunately it keeps failing costing more and more money. Bran feels like he is the week link. and when the computer tech he hired seems to be dragging his feet he's at his wits end and prepared to do anything to fix this problem. Ireland's cousin Cali throws Ireland under the bus insisting Ireland can fix it.
After seeing her resume he hires her. The chemistry between them is undeniable but when the computer code she writes fails. Bran reverts back to his arrogant self undermining her. It'll take some sweet talking to win her back. I love th Cade brothers geat reads cannot wait for Hunt's story

"Monk" no more - another Cade escapade

Thanks to Hidden Gems for the ARC, and this is a voluntary, independent and uncompensated review. Jules Barnard's sexy stories of the Lake Tahoe resort community continue with another Cade brother, Bran, finally meeting his match. At first he hates her. No, not true - he's magnetically attracted and it scares the bejaysus out of him. He's not relationship material - so he says. And so he tries to kill the warm fuzzies with cold crankiness. Ireland can't figure out why. She's never been anything but nice to Bran. She's not interested in romance anyway. She's moved to Tahoe to escape the rampant sexism of Silicon Valley techies and geeks. But Bran's expensive upgrade to the Cade Brothers' resort restaurants online order system has the resort losing big $$ and Bran losing sleep. Ireland, the Silicon Valley's programmer queen, to the rescue. It's a complicated mystery, a simple de-bugging session, and an enforced togetherness that tests everybody;'s patience. Brotherly matchmakers, BFF set-up facilitators - it takes a resort community to push these magnetically attracted don't-wanna-be lovers together, and keep them there long enough for their minds to grasp what their hearts already know. Barnard perfectly captures the Tahoe vibe, the family dynamics, and the supportive friendships, and most especially, the self-doubting reluctant lovers who finally admit that HEA at a Lake Tahoe resort is just fine with them.

Bran has four brothers; three of them are happily taken. That leaves Hunter and him to live the bachelor lives. Bran and his brothers own a resort business left to them by their father. Bran operates and runs four restaurants. Ireland is a redhead who is shy, feisty, and very intelligent. She works as a computer programmer..a top notch one. Bren has sworn off women for the most part. He did not want to get serious with anyone after an incident in high school. Ireland was the type of woman he always avoided. When they first meet, he is always rude to her believing she is flirting with him and trying to get him. In actuality, she wears glasses and cannot see without them, which makes her clumsy. After he substitutes for his brother and takes Ireland on a spin on the boat…things heat up! Bran’s restaurants and software program runs into glitches that are costing him too much money. The programmer they bring in wrote the program but cannot seem to fix it. They hire Ireland who fixes the problem. The other programmer gets mad and tries to attack her. What happened? Can Bran save her? Will their relationship withstand another attempt on his program? This is a delicious very steamy romance that will leave you laughing in some areas and swooning in others. I received this book as a gift and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Bran and Ireland are so hot together!

No matter how much he tries to deny it, Bran just can't ignore the fact that Ireland is the woman of his dreams. Bran's feelings are beyond complicated due to the mistakes of his past, but he needs Ireland's programming superpowers if he's going to get to the bottom of why the new ordering system for his restaurants keeps malfunctioning.

Ireland is fed up with men treating her like she's less than just because she's smarter than most of them. She's finally got her dream job in Tahoe, and is open to exploring the complicated chemistry she has with the infuriatingly rude and annoyingly sexy Bran. Just as their relationship starts to heat up, he hires her as a consultant to fix the ordering software, and is even more impressed with her as she quickly solves the coding problem.

The relationship between Bran and Ireland is quite a roller coaster, with swoon-worthy highs and heartbreaking lows. Bran has a lot to prove, both to himself and to Ireland, and he's not always up to the challenge.

I really enjoyed this story, both for the complex love story and for the updated look at the rest of the Cade family. This is a terrific series, and I can't wait to read Hunt's story next. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Seducing Bran by Jules Barnard
“The monk and his computer genius, 4 stars”

Bran’s family believes he’s a monk but in reality, he just keeps his love life under wraps until he meets Ireland. At first glance she’s everything he avoids when it comes to women, but once he actually opens his eyes and sees her he realizes she’s so much more. Will he be able to remove his foot from his mouth long enough to apologize to her? Only one way to find out…
Ireland is a complete and total nerd who is trying to break out of the mold she’s found herself in. She’s one of those women who are completely oblivious to her looks, smarts, and basically everything around her. Ireland is attracted to Bran but knows it’s a lost cause because for some reason he doesn’t like her. Then one day that all changes. Will she realize her worth and fall for the monk?
I genuinely liked Bran and Ireland and was rooting for them. They were opposites who balanced each other out and hand a lot of fun doing sexy stuff in different places. The people around them were all about these two getting together and staying together. I did enjoy Seducing Bran and hope you do too.

Bran is not in the right headspace for the feisty, clumsy redhead when he runs into Ireland at a celebration he was having a hard time wrapping his brain around.
His rule of staying away from women such as his friend's fiance's cousin become frustratingly harder as days go by.
She wants nothing to do with the arrogant bad boys.
When Bran has to ask her for help with his business technical difficulties, her expertise throws his willpower out the window-
Will he be the one to restore her faith in the male species?
Ireland is a master coder/ fixer, can she fix his broken heart?
A mess of broken hearts, insecurities, and how difficult it is to put it all back together story!
I loved this book!
The two are Fire and Ice! Sexual tension galore, with high octane heat, and plenty of frustration! Super sweet and sadness this tug at the heartstrings romance was a story I could NOT put down!
This is the first book I have read in the Cade Brothers Series, after reading this one, I need to go back and catch up! Jules Barnard has a way with of making her heroes and heroines the perfect amount of relatable and fictional that captures my attention and always brings me back for more!

Love, Hate, Control and Chaos...

In this next installment of the Cade brothers, Bran - the so called "monk" of the family finally meets his match. There is frustration, anger, betrayal, humor, love, control, hate, and chaos as the two strong tempered leads battle their attraction for the other. And now a bit about the story...

Ireland has had enough male superiority and harassment at work to last her three lifetimes. She is a good programmer, but has left the west coast in search of a good company to work for. This lands her in Tahoe with her cousin Cali, who introduces her around and gets her a job a Blue. But the crew from Blue Casino and Club Tahoe are all great friends so it isn't long before Ireland and Bran are in each other's path. Each time they end up alone their lips gravitate to the others, so much for keeping in control and staying away. What will be the final straw, when Ireland moonlights for Bran, when they go on their first date....

Favorite passage: "You're mistaking my normal disposition for me caring about you."

Note: I was given a free copy and voluntarily chose to review this book.

I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.
This is the first time I have read this author and I had never even heard of this series. It was a wonderful book and I would love to read the whole series. It is book 3 in a series but it stands alone. It also features characters from another series by the author.

The story features Bran Cade, a sexy restaurant owner/manager in Lake Tahoe. He fears himself and so when he finds a woman sexy he avoids her, his hook ups are with women he doesn't find that hot. Ireland is intown living with her cousin and fiancée and working at a casino as an IT person. She has the hots for Bran but he seems to hate her.

Until one day he kisses her....and he cannot get her out of his head. Plus he has other problems, an IT problem and you guessed it only Ireland can help. But weird things keep happening and there is also some suspense in this story. I love all the characters and I loved the IT issue and Ireland is so great. I loved that she makes Bran work for her.

Very well written and wonderful story with great characters and easily stands alone.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(Hidden Gems) So I had this is my queue and I don't think that I have read this author before but I did enjoy her so I will read again. You have to get used to Bran because since he had a sad situation in his past he made up rules to live by, he didn't go after Beautiful woman and he kept simple no real relationship and his brothers called him the monk thinking he lived that way which we come to find out that even though he was not a manwhore he definitely was not a monk. So he is seriously attracted to Ireland but because she is beautiful does not treat her right and tries to avoid her as much as possible, due to machinations from family and friends they end up spending time together and everything Bran thought about Ireland was a misconception and he decides to break his rules and have a relationship, screws up and realizes she is the one. I liked Ireland I just kind of wished she made him grovel more, but regardless can't wait for Hunt's story. Enjoy!

Winning Ireland forever

Bran is the Cade brother running the four restaurants on their Lake Tahoe family's resort. He's the quiet, closed off one, even earning the moniker the "Monk Cade brother." He has self imposed rules about women, imposed back in his wild high school days. But that nickname doesn't fit once Bran admits (to himself) the woman he's been avoiding, Ireland, is the one he wants. Ireland is a beautiful, voluptuous redhead, who also happens to be a well educated computer genius. More than Bran expected. She's also the one who can save him from a giant computer crisis at his restaurants. Their interactions show how much Bran has cut himself off. But even though he's handsome, sexy and somewhat self centered, he's not stupid. And he's teachable. So, fortunately for Ireland, Bran learns some valuable lessons before he totally messes up his chances with her. Good to read a story with some hard earned character improvements, a woman competent in her work and families looking out for each other.

4.5 stars. This was the first book by Jules Barnard that I've read and it will not be my last. This was the third book series that had characters from this series and a previous series woven into the tale, but reads as a standalone - just some spoilers (that couple gets together!) if you want to go back and read the previous books. I liked so many things in this book, the character development, the heat, the family interactions, and the story line. Overall, a very good novel and I look forward to checking out other books by JB. I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Simple but addictive with excellent characters.
I liked this romance, maybe a little predictable, but rather charming. The characters are excellent as the hero, Bran, spends his time in the early chapters, to be mean to the heroine, Ireland, depreciating her, making fun of her, all to kiss her languidly when she flees him so much he is a jerk. They both have a huge problem of trust because of their former relationships with the opposite gender.
I loved the character of Ireland, computer genius with a beautyful body, who left Silicon Valley because cha couldn’t standanymore the machismo of her environment and she works with the man she believes to hate the more. Their relationship is as passionate as it is fragile. Added to this, is a hint of computer mystery that gives them a hard time.
In short, it's cute, but once started, I could not put the book.

I received this book as part of an ARC review. Ireland comes to Lake Tahoe to start a new life. Her cousin, Cali, tries setting her up with one of the Cade brothers but she is interested in the other one. Bran despite being interested tries to avoid her. However things conspire against them and they end up alone on a cruise. Their attraction for each other almost gets out of hand. When a new ordering program at the restaurants Bran runs malfunctions, Ireland is hired to fix it. The crooked programmer who wrote it threatens her when she finds out what he did. Once fixed, James hacks in and tries to wreck things again. A brief lapse in using protection causes further issues between Bran and Ireland and they break up. Soon Bran realizes how much he misses and loves Ireland. He begs her for a second chance and when she hears him defending her, she gives it to him. They let each other know their feelings and their relationship builds to be solid.

Seducing Bran was a fantastic read Jules Barnard has written a great romance with some drama, the love of family and definitely some passion. This was a story that grabs you from the very beginning. The characters Bran and Ireland are very intriguing they both feel an overwhelming attraction when they first meet except there is a bit of distrust, but soon the chemistry and attraction are a bit strong and it has pull them in and this may have them questioning their first impressions. Can Bran get past his own rules? Will Ireland give him a chance?
This is book three of the Cade Brothers and my first book by this author and found it could be read as a stand alone, but to really get the full picture you may want to start with book one. I really enjoyed this story and have one clicked the first two. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Bran has been called the monk of the family, leaving the hard playing to his other brothers while he works hard, maybe a little too hard, taking one huge responsibility and running the four restaurants in the family business of Club Tahoe, a little too muck work for Bran. He's made strict rules when it comes to women but when a redheaded siren comes in his sights he does the only thing he can to repel her, becomes a big jacka**. Ireland has had a bad track record with men (both in her work life and love life), especially jerks and she wants to steer clear of Bran and his a**holish ways. But damn, he's just too good looking and that kiss, his hands...Great characters, fun banter and good story makes this a great read.

Ahh Bran 'the monk' Cade...... or is he?
Ireland the fake beauty..... or is she?
This story really proves that first impressions aren't always true.... Bran is determined not to fall into Ireland's trap as he is convinced that her beauty and boobs are fake and he is trying his best to stay out of temptations way.... no connections, no ties, no drama.
Ireland can't believe how rude and unnecessarily cruel Bran is to her... she does her best to avoid him, but their families have other ideas.
When they do start to spend time together they both realise that the geeky girl and the soft hearted brother were actually made for each other....
Another lovely story from Jules, I really liked both characters and even though it is quite a gentle tale it still kept me hooked.
Next up the player.... who will snare Hunt😉
