DFC Wildlife

DFC Wildlife is Buzzing 
You might not think of the Denver Federal Center as a place that draws a lot of wildlife but new residents to the Denver Federal Center will have the area buzzing, quite literally. By late June, local resident and beekeeper Doug Rush will bring six colonies of bees to an area between McIntyre Gulch and Alameda Ave on the DFC. Trees

Tree Update  
Since being discovered in Boulder in 2013, the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is expected to devastate the ash tree population in Colorado over the next decade. Read more here.

  • Requirements for Leaving Privately Owned Vehicles at the DFC 
    Do you have a work trip coming up? If you need to leave your personal vehicle at the DFC overnight, you will need to fill-out a request form at least three days before you leave.  Read more here.
  • Tenant Satisfaction Survey Begins Tuesday, June 19
    We are pleased to announce that the General Services Administration (GSA) will launch its annual Tenant Satisfaction Survey (TSS) on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Learn more here.  

  • A Bicycle Fix-It Station was recently installed at the DFC Wellness Center (Building 75 (7th and Center Ave.)) The Fix-It Station includes a set of tools for basic bike repairs for changing a flat tire and adjusting brakes. It also includes a bike hanger for easy adjusting and an air pump for inflating tires. It’s attached by stainless steel cables and tamper proof fasteners.

        Wednesday, June 27 from 6 a.m. - 9 a.m. A healthy breakfast will be provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaiser Permanente and GEHA. Free Showers will be available for all cyclists.

        Interurban Car No. 25 Event
        Between 1911 and 1950, Interurban Car No. 25 was one of seven cars that provided passenger service on the 13-mile Denver-Lakewood-Golden Route 84 line.

        Come learn more about its history and ride Interurban Car No. 25! This event is open to the general public.

        When: Friday, August 10 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday, August 11 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
        Where: DFC Building 78 and surrounding area, including the track to the north

        DFC Visitors must present a valid I.D. to enter. Visitor access is at:

        • Gate 1: located at 6th Avenue and Kipling Street
        • Gate 4: located at Union Boulevard and Fourth Avenue
        • Gate 5: located at Union Boulevard and Second Place
