The unprecedented COVID-19 crisis has changed the business landscape which made the online business presence increasingly important. This has led to the launch of The Artisans Haven, a virtual mall that offers a rich array of exquisite products & talent from local talented artisans, retailers and entrepreneurs.

The Artisans Haven is launched based on a concept of a virtual multi-storey building connected to a virtual art gallery, convention centre, theatre, comedy club, happiness retreat and campus. The centre court is vibrant with virtual activities together with anchor tenants, such as Abbie and Friends and Explorer Outfitter. It now has a total of 60 tenants and targets to reach 500 tenants by 2021.

The Artisans Haven is keen to promote local artists who are given their virtual art galleries, which the mall management is considering giving rent-free.

“Our focus is to build awareness of our tenants and their products and services,’’ said Founder Jade Lee.

The marketing of the mall is mainly through Facebook where its reach has just crossed 100,000 with a 15% engagement. “We take the effort to delve into their stories and share them on our blogs, postings and website,’’ said Lee.

For artisans and young entrepreneurs who are interested to join the mall, they just need to pay rental fee of RM200 per month. The management of the mall will use a large portion of the rental to promote the digital mall on social media and 12% spent on operations.

“We want to help with low cost promotions and placement opportunities at the mall, and advice on making the sales process simple, safe and customer friendly,’’ said Lee.
