A bit about us:

Krys Leach

Born in Sydney and raised in London, I was taught by Kyffin Williams RA before attending Norwich School of Art and pursuing a career in television. Although I’ve been painting since childhood I’ve exhibited professionally since 1996 and shown my work all over England and in the Irish Republic.

Much of my work is inspired by travel and is distinctive for its rich colour and innovative techniques. I work principally in oils on stretched canvas or canvas board but often start with some texturing - usually marble dust or tissue paper. Sometimes this builds into three dimensions with the judicious use of cut-outs, masks and found objects. I tend to work in series, developing a theme, subject or technique until it yields all its potential. The results vary in size between several feet or just a few inches.
Originally concentrating on landscapes and maritime subjects, in recent years I’ve gained a modest reputation for collectable figure work. I’m very indebted to some very elegant models, of course. Their elegance and grace illuminates every picture.

Tracy Myers

My first ambition was to be an illustrator. I did my Foundation Course at Herts College of Art and Design in St Albans, where I fell in love with printmaking. I got a place at Brighton Art College to study printmaking and photography. However, I decided to drop out to go into TV production, where I enjoyed a 30 year career.

I continued to create art work in various media, not only drawing and painting, but also textiles and decorating furniture. Eventually, Krys and I decided to change our lives and we moved to Norfolk to set up a dedicated studio space. I was able to have the space for an etching press and to return to printmaking.

Since leaving TV I have concentrated on ceramics. I am fortunate to have been taught by artist and potter Helen Dixon, of Anglia Clay Supplies, at Alby Crafts & Gardens. I assist her with her weekly classes and we run the very popular raku courses during the summer months.
