26–30 July 2020, Mexico City, Mexico
14th International Conference on Hydroinformatics (HIC 2020)

The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), through the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), through the Hydraulics Coordination of its Institute of Engineering, were selected as host institutions for the 14th International Conference on Hydroinformatics (HIC 2020) to be held July 26—30, 2020, in Mexico City. The venues of the event will be the Mines Palace and UNAM’s Palace of the School of Medicine, according to the program that will be announced in due course.

HIC 2020 is sponsored by two of the most important international associations related to water research: The International Water Association and the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research.

The main interests of the growing hydroinformatics scientific community includes numerical modeling; the development of new sensors and tools; the interpretation of an increasing amount of data; the analysis and management of complex systems; and the integration of models, data, and controls for practical applications.

Multidisciplinarity has been shown to be the key to solving the major problems faced by our planet. This is evidenced in the work carried out by the IAHR / IWA Joint Committee on Hydroinformatics and various groups of specialists to integrate the knowledge of scientists, professionals, and experts in the development of technologies that allow us to face the complex challenges of water management in a world that is constantly changing.

HIC 2020 will become the most relevant forum in the field of hydroinformatics for exchanging ideas, promoting innovative technologies, and proposing new and more extensive collaborations in order to find solutions for water management and the preservation of the environment.
