Kavanaugh faces a slew of charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon, receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and four outstanding Luna County Magistrate Court warrants. Deming's Interim Police Chief Jose Montoya told Deming Radio News that officers initiated a routine traffic stop on a 2020 Nissan passenger car, leading to Kavanaugh's apprehension. During the stop, officers uncovered a weapon disguised as a cell phone, prompting further investigation. Kavanaugh's checkered past, marked by felony records, compounded his legal troubles, resulting in the weapons charge against him. The severity of the charges underscores the gravity of the situation and the potential danger Kavanaugh posed. Deming Police Make Narcotic Trafficking ArrestDEMING - Daniel Gallosa, 36, found himself in the custody of the Deming Police Department after being apprehended on multiple charges. Gallosa faces accusations of trafficking in controlled substances, specifically methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Additionally, he is charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failing to appear in Luna County Magistrate Court as per an existing warrant. According to Deming Interim Police Chief Jose Montoya, Gallosa was allegedly found in possession of two packages of methamphetamine, evidently prepared for distribution, along with seven fentanyl pills. These findings were reported to Deming Radio News. Gallosa's legal proceedings are forthcoming, with an arraignment scheduled in the Magistrate Court. It's imperative to note that Gallosa retains the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law. |
