    Was there any relationship between optimism and type of personality? In other words is optimism wired in the personality or can be acquired and enhanced?

    Did you observe any hint of parallels or a link between heart-rate-variability, managed breathing and the vagus system?

    I ask because some 30 years ago while consulting with the Cavendish Laboratory in Cambridge,England on a high vacuum physics question, I was distracted by the parallels between the theories of chaos mathematics and certain fight or flight related human responses, which in turn led me to the vagus system, etcetera. Needless to say, my observations were never clinically tested; they are, so to speak, anecdotal; and, apropos longevity, I will be 90 years old next year.
