To ensure the safety of our patrons during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Earl E. Schaffer Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink, under the guidance of the Bethlehem Health, Emergency Management, and Code Enforcement Departments, will operate following the COVID-19 protocols outlined below:
- Due to current capacity restrictions, only 230 patrons will be admitted to each public skate session. EVERYONE WHO ENTERS, MUST PAY ADMISSION.
- All public skate patrons will ENTER the building through the main lobby entrance and must remain 6 feet apart while waiting to enter.
- EXITING the premises must occur within 15 minutes of the end of the session to allow rink employees to properly sanitize the facility.
- In order to help prevent community spread, face coverings should be worn at all times while on the premises.
- Everyone, not in the same household, is expected to practice social distancing and remain six feet apart on and off the ice.
- The concession stand and party room will be closed this season.
- Skate sharpening will only be available during public skate sessions or by scheduling an appointment. (Contact the Recreation Office between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm to schedule a sharpening time outside of public skate sessions)
- Due to the uncertainty of the season due to the pandemic, season passes will not be sold for the 2020-21 season.
*These policies, updated November 24, 2020, may change at any time based on updated guidelines from the Bethlehem Health, Emergency Management, or Code Enforcement Departments.
