The NIAS-Lorentz Program promotes cutting-edge interdisciplinary research that brings together perspectives from the humanities and/or social sciences with the natural and/or technological sciences. Nominees are outstanding researchers with an excellent academic track record and the capacity to bring together researchers from necessary disciplines.
The Distinguished NIAS-Lorentz Fellowship (DNLF) receives:
- A fellowship at NIAS for 5 months between September - January 2023.
- A workshop at the Lorentz Center on the fellowship topic, with full organizational support and a budget of €20,000 for travel and hotel reimbursements.

Faces of Science (FoS) is a network of PhD students from all kinds of disciplines from all over the Netherlands. Within FoS, talented PhD students at Dutch universities get the opportunity to present their research in an appealing way to the FoS target group (mainly upper secondary school pupils and students, but also the general public). PhD students also become part of the FoS network and are offered tools and training to further develop their science communication practice. Every year, 12 PhD students are selected as Faces of Science. Faces of Science is a project of the KNAW, De Jonge Akademie and NEMO Kennislink.
