Highlights

Tens of thousands of patients in the Netherlands are dealing with the aftermath of COVID-19. Why is it that clarity about the cause and appropriate medication is still lacking? Jeroen den Dunnen and colleagues explain
The monkey pox virus is on the rise, the number of infected people in Europe is growing and even in the Netherlands, the first infections have been identified. Amsterdam UMC virologist Matthijs Welkers indicates that the virus can be deadly for humans
The Dutch Cancer Society has awarded a total of 8.6 million euro to 15 Amsterdam UMC - Cancer Center Amsterdam research groups. Among them is Dr. Marieke Fransen's project called: “Arming local lymphoid tissues to increase the efficacy of immunotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer” (€ 765,118).
According to Marc van der Valk there is still plenty of progress to be made when focusing on HIV.  How will the Netherlands move towards zero new infections and better quality of life for older HIV patients?
