5th Annual Symposium of AII
The Annual Symposium will take place in the Openbare Bibliotheek in the center of Amsterdam on Thursday, June 23rd. Rather than inviting keynote speakers from outside our institute, we have decided to turn the spotlight on ourselves. We will be asking you all for your contributions - not just scientific (abstracts), but also creative contributions ('promote your lab/dept' video). The day will be concluded dancing and dining. More information.

Highlights

We are proud to share that the National Growth Fund invests 325 million euros in the Oncode-PACT plan to accelerate the preclinical development process of cancer drugs.
Every year, 1.5 million people suffer from tick bites and about 27,000 contract lyme disease. Joppe Hovius will investigate whether a vaccine can prevent lyme disease.
Researchers from AII compared the effect of these mRNA vaccines with that of the vector vaccines AstraZeneca and Janssen. Of the women who received a vector vaccine, 50% had antibodies in their breast milk.
In the early days of the coronavirus pandemic an ambitious data-sharing project was created on the ICU's. Intensivist Paul Elbers is enthusiastic about the project that is entering its next phase.

Update your research profile in our AII database

In order to stimulate collaboration within our institute we created a database which will make it easier for our researchers to find and connect with each other based on name, research topic, technology, disease etc. The database is only accessible for the researchers of AII. Information how to log in in the database can be found here. Please add your information to this database, so other AII researchers can find you.
