AII Postdoc Grant
WHAT: A maximum budget of 80.000 euro.
WHO: Postdocs within 6 years after their PhD with potential to start/continue their own research line and research group within one of the AII programs.
AIM: Support young postdoctoral talent at the crucial stage in their innovative research towards successful future grant applications.

Marieke Fransen receives KWF funding for fundamental lung cancer research. With this funding of €192,450.50 Marieke Fransen will investigate the ‘use of spontaneous tumor antibody responses as a biomarker and enhancer of anti-tumor immune responses’

CAR-T cell therapy, an innovative form of immunotherapy, can be life-saving for people with a very aggressive form of lymphoma. People who would otherwise be out of treatment. The therapy is however, relatively new, under development and by no means suitable for everyone.
A specific vaginal bacteria, Prevotella timonesis, found in bacterial vaginosis greatly increases the risk of HIV infection. These results found by Nienke van Teijlingen and Leanne Helgers have been published in EMBO journal.
Groundbreaking: doctors at the Intensive Care Unit of Amsterdam UMC are now supported by artificial intelligence in their patient discharge decision, based on large amounts of information from electronic patient records.
