Rules is the third and final installment in the Greyford High series. I absolutely love Anna's writing style. Her stories are very well developed, and her descriptions and the little details, really bring the story to life. The way that Anna paints a picture with her words made me feel like I was actually immersed in this world. I love how she peels back the layers on her characters, giving us readers the chance to truly get to know them. I waited patiently, for some time, to get my hands on Max and Brook's story, and it was absolutely worth the wait. It was incredibly moving, heartbreaking and beautiful all wrapped up into one AMAZING story! Now I won't go into the plot and spoil anything for anyone. You will just have to read this for yourself. But I can promise you, this book, and the whole series is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I'm sad that this series has come to an end, but it took me on an emotionally rewarding journey that I'm not soon to forget. 5 Soul-Stirring Stars!!!

#BROOKANDMAX4EVER

Five FIRECRACKER stars for Brook and Max 💚💚💚!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I finally had the chance to read "Rules", Brook and Max's story, which I was waiting for since book one.

And I got more than expected.

I cannot without comparing this book with the first book "Lines" from the series "Greyford High".

Not because "Lines" was bad and this one was brilliant.

It's because if you've read both of them you can see how the characters became mature and how Anna's writing style got the next level.

I love her writing style since "Lines".

It's simple and beautiful.

Everything that one YA book needs to be.

But, with this book, she really surprised me.

The first half of the book was like I used to.

But, the second half of the book shocked me because I never thought she would write about some themes.

She put some things I didn't expect and that happened.

Because I always get some opinion about how some writer writes, already from the first book I read by them.

And she/he continues writing in that way other books.

But, not Anna.

She put in her book something I didn't expect and I loved it so much!

"Rules" is so emotional young adult romance book that will make you laugh but also make cry in some moments.

Brook and Max' s relationship is a really slow burn.

First, they were enemies, then they became friends and after so many ups and downs they finally got their happily ever after.

Their story is complex and heartbreaking that shattered my heart in thousands of pieces, countless times.

Brook is definitely my favorite female character from "Greyford High" because she had that three "rules" which are exactly the same rules I have too in my life but from some other reasons.

I love her wish to become better than her mother.

Her persistence to get that no matter how hard that would be.

Max is so different from my current book boyfriends because at first, he gave the impression of the bad boy but when I started reading his story I got another impression.

He is so far away from the bad boy.

He is so sensitive to his twin sister and he would do everything to see her happy.

And that is something you can't see every day.

Yes, brothers in books are always protected when it comes that their sisters have boyfriends and in the most the case that usually these boyfriends are brothers' best friend/friend.

But, Max's unconditionally love there was before Jeanette and Andrew's relationship.

The same goes for his feelings for Brook.

No matter how many times she pushed him away, he was always there to protect.

Only that one time, when both of their worlds fell apart.

I also read the bonus scene I was so happy how it all turned out.

And for being honest I would be disappointed if that different ended (for the one who has read this book, they know what I am talking about).

I would be happy if Anna will write another bonus scene to show us, how the lives of the Greyford family turn out after they all went to college.

If you're looking for a YA romance series that will bring out of you each of your emotions and also will make you laugh, then "Greyford High" is you next MUST TO READ series!

Highly recommended!!!

How can I write review if I can't gather my thoughts? This book left me speechless. This was one of the best endings of the YA series I've ever read.
We can talk about all the broken people in this series, but Brook... she had a really shitty life. Still, in my opinion she wasn't broken, she was bent. And she was the strongest one. She was withdrawn and secretive, but only in order not to cause her friends any more problems with her life. This was her and Max’s story.. And what a story it was!

Brook has a special place in my heart. She is one of the strongest heroine I have ever met in books. Max...I had some mixed feelings about Max, but he finally took his head out of his ass and fought for what was best for him.

No words can reflect how much I've been involved in this story. Rules is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Thank you Anna for All The Feels.

I read the first series - New York Knights by Anna, and I fell in love with her writing style, but this series is another level.
I love all of Anna's books, but this one is her best one yet.

Since I saw ARC on my Kindle I was just waiting a free time to start with this book. And what a journey that was.

Max and Brook are everything. Both with their virtues, flaws and demons they are perfect. As individuals and as couple.

This book will break you, heal you, make you fall in love with characters, and their story. You will cry with them, and for them. You will love with them, and cheer for their happy ending.

I won't spoiler the story, I will just say you HAVE TO, no, YOU NEED TO read this book.

This was the perfect conclusion of this great series.

Okay this is Greyford high #3, we have seen the 3 couples paired up, but my heart wasn't ready for this book. Knowing Anna, I knew this was going to kick my legs out from under me, and I was right. Dangit I was wrecked. I actually had to take a few days after I finished to think about this book, as I have loved this series so much. Anna paired my favorite character(Max) with my least favorite(Brooke) I really always had a hate thing happening with Brooke, I always thought she was just a little too bitchy for my liking.
With this book I see why, and I take back every bad thought I had about her. There...how is that for honesty? Not rehashing the plot, because I am sure you can read that on your own. My gut reaction to this book was honestly "damn, where is the bus that hit me?" I knew the best was going to be the toughest to read and I was right. If you do one thing in your life, read this book, and read the series, because honestly this is some great writing, some fabulous characters and such a great world to get lost in.

What a better way to finish this beautiful series then with Brook's story. So strong and capable of taking care of herself without ever ask for help. But sometimes let people in is the only way. Max is the missing piece , the other half , her soul mate. The perfect modern hero, who doesn't try to be one, but he simply is. I absolutely recommend it, 4.5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This has been one of my most anticipated reads! I have been wanting Max and Brook's story since Lines, the first in there series, and Anna B. Doe did not disappoint!
Max fell for Amelia but she chose someone else. Max is a good guy that wants to fix the rift between him and his sister, Jeanette, and also nurse his broken heart. Yet, this snarky girl keeps diverting his attention. That snarky girl? Brook, Amelia's best friend.
Brook is blunt, snarky and has a closet full of secrets. She protects her heart with everything that she has except people have a way of making her break her own rules she's set in place to protect herself.
I don't have the words to say how great this story is! It's raw, it's heartbreaking and it's so beautiful! It's not a light read by any means but that's how Max and Brooks's story was supposed to be.
The jaw-dropping revelations made throughout the story were amazing! I loved how one of those took us all the way back to the beginning of the series and before. I was floored and did not see it coming.
Even though this story can easily stand on its own, it's so much better when read with the other two.
Anna B. Doe writes each story in a way that matches the tone of the characters. Amelia is the sweetheart, Jeanette is the ice princess, and Brook is the girl that hides a world of hurt behind her sarcastic, biting words.
I fell in love with the Greyford High Series and am sad that it's over. Anna B. Doe gave us a series that has been exceptional and a perfect young adult romance series!

This series has just gotten better and better and now we finally get Brook and Max's story and y'all you have no idea how good this book is!

You think you know this tough girl and the good guy, there is so much hidden depth with these characters, you cannot help but get sucked in and becoming emotionally invested in them either. This book also runs in tandem with book 1 and 2 and helps fill in a few gaps that you didn't even realize were there, several times I was like AHHHH *Lightbulb moment*. I loved how it all worked together and then the jaw dropping secrets were AMAZING.

All in all, this is a good book! I highly recommend reading the first 2 books first to know about the other characters and what went down, but it is not necessary to enjoy the book because the things that happen in the previous book are in this one again. If you like new adult romances that focus on hard topics, this is a book/series that you don't want to miss!

PS: Thank you to Anna and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Brooke and Max story is one to read. It takes you on a journey of true life struggles, love, friendship and camaraderie.

“Some things always stay the same no matter where you come from. Like the fact that every story has two sides.”

Brooke has to live by her own rules to survive. Max has struggles that he tries to hide from the world. You watch these character grow and develop as they help each other with there struggles without even knowing it. Anna’s writing was amazing with the way she developed the characters and had you empathizing and caring for the characters as you continue to read this amazing story. If you are looking for a book with all the feels with great writing and characters this is the book for you.

The Family She Made
I can’t believe the series is over. What an ending! I waited patiently for Max and Brook’s story and I loved where the author took us. INCREDIBLY moving, with both heartbreaking and relevant issues. The author never shys away from difficult subject matter which keeps me coming back for more.

Brook has always been a mystery, even to her best friend. No father. A mother who neglected and abused her. Choosing alcohol and drugs over her own child. The only one Brook has ever depended on is herself. She lets no one in, so that no one else can hurt her. But when she met Lia she broke that rule. They’ve been best friends ever since.

Max was good guy who looked like the bad boy. He took care of his sister and befriended Lia. He even gave up the girl he had feelings for so that she could get her HEA. He’s totally lovable and a great hockey player to boot. And him and Brook were like fire and ice.

This is their story. A story of discovery and healing. A young woman who’s learning to share her burdens and open her heart. A man who is learning to realize that it is not his job to save the people he loves. He just needs to love them and stand beside them as they fight their own battles.

You get to re-visit your favorite characters and fall more in love with them. They each have had their own struggles. The story will bring them all full circle. Everything turns out is exactly as it should. This is recommended reading for anyone who enjoys emotional NA/YA reads. I loved this series.

This beautifully, well-written book put me through a whirlwind of emotions! The characters are sure to pull on your heart strings and you cannot help but cheer them on as they look for their HEA. This is an engaging novel that pulled me in right from the first page and kept me entertained until the very end. The author does a masterful job with character development - demonstrating how both Brooke and Max evolved and gained maturity as the story progressed all while staying true to their characters.

If you’ve read any of the other books in this series, then you know that Max is Jeannette’s twin brother and I was thrilled to get my hands on his book. I absolutely adored Max and my high school self has claimed him as my book bf. He is a popular hockey athlete and his protective nature and huge heart are what I loved most about him. As for Brooke, I wasn’t sure what to think of her at first. She is at times closed off and possesses a prickly exterior, but she completed endeared herself to me as the author revealed more about her. These two and their journey put me through all of the feels.

Rules is a standalone in this author’s Greyford High series, but you will recognize the couples from the other two books. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Rules with its entertaining storyline and likable, well developed characters. I received an early complimentary version of this book.

Rules does a beautiful job putting all the pieces together in the Greyford High Series. All three books are stand-alones but you REALLY need to experience all of them. SO AMAZING!

Brook and Max might be my favorite couple. I have said that with each new book in this series and totally mean it. Sigh. These two took me on an emotional ride. It is crazy how I get choke up thinking about them.

The injustice and horrible childhood Brook experienced makes me want to sob. Her need to harden herself and not trust gets explained as this story continues. Her saving grace was her friends but even that she didn’t trust to last.

Max as the perceived golden boy, shines especially when you feel his love for his twin sister.

Max and Brook have this amazing love/hate thing going, bring a realness to this story. Wink! They fight it but boy are they spicy together.

All kinds of revelations occur as you travel down this story’s telling. My heart breaks several times and I want to hurt a couple characters that don’t deserve the amazing children they have.

Love how all my questions are answered in this book. So worth the wait, tying all the Greyford stories together. Definitely 5 star worthy. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

I have been waiting for this book since I read Habits... I mean seriously, you should see my messages to Anna asking for this book and let me tell you it does not disappoint.

There was so much to this story I could not put it down.

Anna does such a great job of bringing them to life and I’m going to miss this series so much.

Was I really the only one who read this and thought: “abortion isn’t murder, please stop”?!! Honestly this was the book I was waiting for because it finally involved Max (my crush since the 1st book), but the pro-life lingo that surrounded Brook’s decision to keep her pregnancy was very disappointing to read.

At one point Brook says: “How am I supposed to look my baby in the eyes? How am I supposed to be his mother, knowing that I almost killed him?”

Honestly, nobody needed that. I don’t know the author’s stance on this but the “abortion = murder” discourse has the implications of thinking “women who have abortions are murderers” which is not the case. AT ALL. I would’ve love to read the internal struggle of a woman who (considering all her options fairly) exercises her autonomy and decides to keep it, rather than what we got.

Rules is my favorite book in he Greyford High series! Although I have enjoyed all the books Max anc Brook's story is by far my favorite!

Brook Taylor is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She's been going to Greyford High but is only trying to get through. Max Sanders is the school's star hockey player. Brook has three rules she lives by in order to survive her life, but when Max walks into her life she quickly forgets her rules. Max is struggling and hiding it from the world.

Max and Brook's story is real life struggles that we tend to try and not focus on. In a world so full of awful people we forget that these awful people have children and the things they choose to do affects their children more than they could ever imagine. Brook is made fun of for her clothes being too big or old, she frequently will "skip" lunch at school. But maybe no one really wants to look at the reasoning behind all of this. Her mother is a drug addict, and her father is buying her mother's silence about who Brook's father is. Her mother abuses her and it's absolutely heartbreaking to read, but it's a true problem in the world.

Max's struggles although not the same as Brook's are still there. He's trying to rebuild his relationship with his sister. He's the "Golden Boy" and I think like any other he's struggles with what he wants and what he is suppose to do. There's a fine line he's walking and I'm not sure he knew what side he was walking on.

Max and Brook's relationship was absolutely beautifully broken. They kept their relationship a secret. But like any relationship feelings happen and rules are broken. Their relationship is an emotional roller coaster that gives you all the feels.

Doe delivered an amazing book about a broken love story. True love isn't hearts and roses, it's struggle and hard. But at the end of the day you fight for each other.

Rules was the perfect ending to this series!

When I first read Lines, I instantly fell in love with Max. What can I say, I love mysterious bad boys and I just knew that his and Brooke's book is going to be amazing.

When I was starting this book, I set my bar high. Why? Because you've never disappointed me with your writing and imagination. And once again you exceeded my expectations because this book is incredible. I was eager to find out more about Brook and her background, why is she acting the way she is. I was devastated when I got the full picture and read what she went through. Growing up with a mother that is emotionally abusing her and neglecting her, broke my heart especially after we find out what one of Jospehine's boyfriends did. But she grew up to be a strong, independent, stubborn, amazing human being even though she couldn't see that at times. I love her with all my heart.

I must say, I love the fact that Habits and Rules are happening around the same time. We got to see how Max was feeling when Jeanette was dealing with her eating disorder and handling her relationship with Andrew. He's afraid of missing signs she is losing control over her illness and that once again he'll be too late. He just cares so much for her, I really enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve and get better from Max's perspective.
We see Max grasping the meaning of loving someone, not the idea of someone. A little confused at the beginning about his feelings towards Brook and his path to discovering he truly cares for her and loves her is really special.

You've touched some heavy subjects and handled them perfectly. Character development is not rushed or squeezed into a few paragraphs, it takes time and is just perfect.

Overall I LOVE them and this book. I just started reading Underwater but nonetheless, I dare to say that Rules is your best published book so far. Incredible.

For the complete story, not just Brook and Max, make sure you read book one Lines, and two Habits as this story runs along the same time line as those two.

Brook had three rules;

#1: Don’t form attachments.
#2: Don’t let your guard down.
#3: Do NOT fall in love.

And she broke them all. My heart breaks for Brook and everything she's gone through in her life. She has known one struggle after another, never seeming to catch a break.

"Life’s a cheating son of a b****, and hope is just an illusion. And sooner or later, the reality will catch up to you and show you just how ugly it really is."
~Brook~

Max, is almost the opposite of Brook. Rich, comes from a good family that cares about him, and everywhere to go in the future. But, is everything actually all it seems on the surface?

"There is something about Brook Taylor that draws my attention, and no matter how long or how hard I stare at her, there is always something more to see, something more to discover about the girl who holds all her secrets close to her."
~Max~

These two are almost polar opposites, but couldn't be more perfect for each other. If only they could see that themselves, and let go of the past enough to move on. So much happens in this book, not only with Brook and Max, but the others as well. It's so angst filled and emotional that you find yourself invested with these characters and their lives. Brook and Max have more in common than it originally seems. They both have their demons. Their own secrets. Getting anything out of Brook is like pulling teeth, but when you get to know who she really is, you can't help but feel for her. Max is the same. He seems to have everything, but his demons eat at him daily. The question is, can two damaged people heal themselves and each other before losing what they could have?

An intense read from cover to cover! Brook and Max's story was hands down my favorite book in this series! It was so emotional and traumatic but at the same time so darn hot and utterly captivating. You could feel the emotion the author poured into her writing through the entire book!

My heart broke over and over again for Brook Taylor. She was so damn strong, determined to create a better life for herself than her pathetic excuse of a mother ever bothered to. She kept anyone and everyone at arm's length, ensuring she never neglected her 3 life rules.

Max was carrying so much guilt on his shoulders from everything his twin had gone through and was still dealing with. He was also in love with a girl who didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Nothing was working in Max’s favor, except hockey. His character was just so beaten down.

One drunken encounter at a party changed everything for these two. It set in motion a serious chain of events, both good and bad. The chemistry between these two was intense, despite their absolute denial of it on any kind of emotional level. The struggles these two faced together made me cheer for them to figure things out and find a way to save one another. The slow build of the relationship was perfection and left me wanting so badly for this couple to make it work.

This read was packed full of drama, heartbreak, teenage angst and love. The story flowed so well and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end!!! I wanted nothing more than Max and Brook to find the HEA they deserved, along with all of the other couples of Greyford High!

Maxxxxx!

Boy this was heavy. We knew Brook and Max’s story would be that way and even thought I went in eyes wide my heart still broke.

This read has so many heart wrenching moments. I cried for Brook and begged her to finally open up which I was so glad she did. How can one person take so much?

These two are perfect and I absolutely loved their story and getting inside their heads and hearts. Wonderful book and addictive series.

I have loved Brook and Max since the first time I met them in earlier releases within the Greyford High series and was so excited to find out RULES would be THEIR story.

And WOW... what a story they have!😮💔💚
It’s an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. Full of ups and downs, heartbreak, love, secrets, lies, deceit, and SO much more.

Max and Brook don’t have a “all hearts and roses” story. They don’t have “insta” love. These two have real love, real problems and real life changing choices to make. This story is packed with emotions from great characters that pulls you in and you feel what they are feeling every step of the way. It’s beautifully dark and wild ride! An absolute must read!💚💚

Whew, I have been waiting for this book since I started the Greyford High series and I couldn’t be happier with how this book turned out.

This is all about Max and Brooke and it brings back to the beginning of their story so we get to experience every moment that brought them to their forever. And oh what a story it is, their are so many struggles that we had no clue about when reading the other books and I feel like it made me fall that much harder for them.

This book can be read as a standalone so feel free to jump right in but I think you will want to know more about the other characters when you read this one!

Rules by Anna B. Doe is the third and final installment of the Greyford High Series. This series has followed a group of six friends, three couples, as they go through high school, learning about friendships, life, love, and themselves. Although Rules can be read as standalone, to understand the full story of these characters you should read Lines and Habits first. If you have not read the other books in the series, read this review at your own risk because there may be spoilers from book one and two.

Rules is somewhat of a recap of the things that were happening with other characters in Habits, but it’s also MORE because this time around we get a deeper look into what was going on with Max and Brook. Two characters that although we KNEW… we didn’t KNOW, especially Brook Taylor.

Brook Taylor had three rules.

#1: Don’t form attachments.
#2: Don’t let your guard down.
#3: Do NOT, under any circumstances, fall in love.

And she broke them all…
❝ I created the rules, three golden rules to keep me alive. Three golden rules to survive. And then… then I broke them all. And now, I’m paying the price.❞

Brook Taylor has always kept her cards close to her chest. Even her best friend doesn’t know the secrets Brook keeps. Brook learned a long time ago that you don’t form attachments, given the opportunity the ones closest to you could hurt you the most.
❝ Love is just a hindrance. It makes you weak and vulnerable. You open yourself up for people to see, even if it’s just a glimpse, and they’ll find weaknesses to exploit. People hurt people. And those who are closest to you have to most power to do so.❞
Brook has had a tough life. Her whole life has been one struggle after another. Brook made a set of rules to keep her focused on her goal, finishing high school and getting the hell out of town and far away from her mother.

Maximillian Sanders, the rich boy, the hotshot hockey player, the bad boy who’s actually a really good guy. For a while when Max first started at Greyford High, he had a crush on Amelia, Brook’s best friend. A crush that he thought was love. But Max, being the good guy that he is, knew that Amelia and Derek were meant to be together. So even though it crushed him, he helped Derek win her back.

Now he’s focused on overcoming his own problems and making it to the Ice Globe Tournament, and winning so that he can ensure his spot at one of the division one colleges to help lead to a career in the NHL.

From day one, Max and Amelia have been at each other’s throats.
❝ It irritates me.
Infuriates really.
It thrills me.
At the same time, I love and hate the little spark that he sets on fire every time we face one another.❞
Max is the complete opposite of Brook. He’s the golden boy, she’s the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. She’s the quiet wallflower, he’s the outspoken star athlete.

But when Brook takes pity on Max and helps him with academic work that he’s struggling with, things between the two of them start to change. The more time the two spend together the more time Max can’t help thinking that maybe he had it wrong all along… But Brook makes it almost impossible for you to actually get to know her.

Will Brook break her rules for him?

This jaded girl is hiding something and Max is determined to pull back her layers and see what’s underneath… but will he be strong enough to handle what he finds?

Can these two get over what’s holding them back before they miss out on what they could have… together?

You’ll have to check out Rules to find out!
❝ Brook wants me to be a good little boy and follow her rules, and any other time I’d listen, but something about her wakes up a rebel in me, and he wants to break them all.❞

I have been DYING for Brook’s story since she was first introduced in Lines. I always knew that there was MORE to her story, that she was hiding something… something awful. Rules deals with some difficult subject matter, it’s not an easy read. But it’s exactly how I knew Max and Brook’s story would be. Heartbreaking, emotional, and angsty af, but you can NOT put it down.
❝ My darkness is my own, and I’m not going to taint anybody with it. Especially not him.❞
Once I realized that Habits and Rules were going to run concurrent, I was a little disappointed, I thought oh lord, the same story all over again?! Boy was I wrong. Now that we have Max and Brook’s POV, it’s like we are seeing Lines and especially Habits in a whole new light. We see how Max was still reeling dealing with Jeanette’s eating disorder, how he first reacted to finding out about her relationship with Andrew, we see Max dealing with his confusing feelings towards Lia, from thinking he was in love with her, to realizing he was in love with the idea of her. To FINALLY, seeing Max figure out his feelings for Brook, and trying to convince her that she’s not a replacement for Lia, she’s not his second choice, she’s his ONLY choice.
❝ You’re not tainted, Brook. You’re a survivor, a warrior, and don’t let anybody take that away from you.❞
❝ There is something about Brook Taylor that draws my attention, and no matter how long or how hard I stare at her, there is always something more to see, something more to discover about the girl who holds all her secrets close to her.❞
I have NEVER hurt so much for one character they way I do for Brook. She has endured so much in her young life. Her childhood was downright painful, to put it mildly. Brook’s mother, Josphine, mentally and physically abused her… not counting what she allowed the people in her home to do… and continuously chose drugs, alcohol, and men over Brook. But despite her mother’s epic failures at being a decent mother, Brook has grown to be a strong and independent young woman. But because of the life that Brook has been forced to live, she keeps her feelings and emotions locked up tight, shying away from any form of attachment and shouldering her burdens all on her own. Brook has always been a bit of an enigma, and now after finding out why she is the way she is, heartbreaking.

❝ I want your all, Brook.❞
I adore Max. I know he’s supposed to be this “bad boy” but even in the other books, I only saw him as a good guy. He’s the sweetest boy, and I adore how protective he is of Jeanette. We were able to read her story in her POV in Habits, but being able to read Max’s POV has me seeing her story completely different now. Max’s life may seem perfect on the outside but things aren’t always the way they seem behind closed doors. Max is a protector at his very core and exactly the type of guy that Brook needs. Even though Brook doesn’t need saving because she’s perfectly capable of taking care of herself, just like she always has, Max is just the type of guy she can lean on and help shoulder some of that burden she’s been carrying by herself for so long.
❝ Although Brook Taylor doesn’t need a savior, I need her to be my redemption.❞

No matter how different Max and Brook are, they are absolutely perfect for each other. Unfortunately, it takes them an awfully long time to catch up on what everyone else around them seems to have already figured out. Brook and Max’s relationship is a slow burn, they go from enemies to somewhat friends, to… more. As always, nothing is ever easy for Brook and there are a whole lot of ups and downs before these two will get their happily ever after.
❝ We’re all broken and jaded in our own way. The only difference is, some of us are better than others at covering it up.❞

I have been enthralled by this series from the very start. Anna B. Doe is a brilliant author. Doe has created these characters and each and every storyline with such depth that it makes it so easy to immerse yourself into the world that she’s created. I love that she’s not afraid to dive headfirst into the tough stuff. Doe has written about some heavy subjects in this series, especially in Habits and Rules, but the way she’s written them opens your eyes to those subjects, but they are handled with sensitivity to those who may have triggers to the subjects being discussed. I feel like I have been waiting on Brook’s story from the very first chapter of Lines and Doe did not disappoint.
❝ Everybody who comes in to your life is there for a reason. Everybody. Don’t forget that. You can try and resist it, you can try to run away from it, but love will find you and it’ll make you fall nonetheless.❞

Rules was the perfect ending to this beautifully written series. Max and Brook’s story was well worth the wait, but I can’t believe it’s over. Amelia, Derek, Andrew, Jeanette, Brook, and Max have all left an impact on me and I won’t be forgetting these characters any time soon. I have been so invested in them ever since the release of Lines and even though I’m glad to see them all get their happily ever after, I’m also sad to see them go.

If you enjoy angsty YA/NA reads, then Rules, as well as the rest of the PHENOMENAL Greyford High Series, is going to be right up your alley!
❝ You made me break my rules.❞

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Rules is an absolutely amazing ending to the Greyford High Series! I have been DYING for Brook’s story since she was first introduced in Lines. I always knew that there was going to be MORE to her story. Rules deals with some difficult subject matter, it’s not an easy read. But it’s exactly how I knew Max and Brook’s story would be. Heartbreaking, emotional, and angsty af, but you won’t be able to put it down! Anna B. I love that she’s not afraid to dive headfirst into the tough stuff. If you enjoy angsty YA/NA reads, then Rules, as well as the rest of the PHENOMENAL Greyford High Series, is going to be right up your alley!

🔥🔥🔥🔥 – Max and Brook’s story is a bit of a slow burn, they are frenemies for quite a bit but there is ALWAYS that sexual tension between them. When they both get out of their own heads and realize what they have right in front of them… things heat up and sparks are flying!

🌪ℂ𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕗𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕣 𝕎𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 – Nope, no cliffhanger. This is the ending of the Greyford High Series. Brook and Max do finally get a happily ever after, BUT they work for it, in my opinion, more than any of the other couples in the series! I also loved the extended epilogue, if you have a chance to check that out, it’s just the icing on the cake!

⚠️ 𝕋𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕘𝕖𝕣 𝕎𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 – Rules deals with some pretty tough subjects that could be considered triggers. Unfortunately, I can’t list them as they would give away major spoilers. But just know, this is not a light, easy, read.

Brooke is living a life that no teenager should have to endure which has ensured that she allows very few people close and even those that are don’t know the full story. She believes the best way to protect herself is to distance herself for others and that worked well for her until Max saw through her walls and wanted more.

Max appears to be living a charmed life but the truth is much different. He is always willing to put the needs of those he cares about first despite the personal consequences to himself. He is intrigued by Brooke and can’t stay away even if it is destined to end in heartbreak.

This is a beautiful story about love and healing that is filled with so much emotion. Both Brooke and Max are damaged in their own ways but when they finally open their hearts and minds to the possibilities of what they could have it was magical to watch.

Rules by Anna B. Doe is an NA high school sports romance, and is the third book in the Greyford Wolves series.

This story runs parallely to some of the story in Habits.

Both Brook and Max have secrets from their past, but Brook more so. Their story is heartbreaking and emotional at times, and fills the last pieces of the friend group for this series.

The story does touch on sensitive topics, and like all of Anna B. Doe’s books the TW’s are noted in her website.

The story is told from both Brook and Max’s POVs.

Its been a while but this book has definitely been worth the wait , Maximillian & Brooks story will have you heart in pieces at times , more for Brook than Maximillian , sorry Max . Independent , strong willed & fiercely protective of her heart , only her best friend really gets past her barriers but Maximillian slowly worms his way past them & shes got to decide if she can trust her feelings & more to the point trust him. You will get more from this book if you read the other two , Lines & Habits but if you are good at reading between the lines you could pick it all up but honestly you would be missing out . This book starts with two people with their own idea of what they want / don't want from their last years at Greyford High & what the get is somewhat unexpected for both
