Ladies and Gentleman… meet the newest King and Queen of romance, Hayes and Confidence. These two- they were so intriguing and both of their stories hooked me from the start.
When Hayes and Confidence first meet, there is that spark. That instant attraction. They both feel it, but then it gets a little rocky. Once these two find their footing, things between them are real and raw and completely entraining. I was obsessed with these two and their love.
Confidence is fierce. She’s strong, loyal, and a heroine that’s relatable and admirable. Hayes Rivers is an alpha male and he’s dirty in the best way possible. He and Confidence lit the pages on fire with their chemistry. This is by far one of the sexiest books I’ve read this year. There was so much more than just the sexiness of the book. The romance was epic. The love story between these two… sigh. I was obsessed with them.
The romance between Hayes and Confidence was my favorite part of the book, but there was so much more to this story. I loved the drama, the angst, and the twists and the turns. Hayes’ family was much like a soap opera and I couldn’t get enough. I loved the surprises throughout the story and can’t wait to see where some of these revelations take us.
The Legacy is a completely captivating, passionate, romantic, steamy, and gripping read. This is one book you don’t want to miss out on. I can’t sing it’s praises enough. Dylan Allen really brought it with this book and I can’t wait to read more about these characters- bring on Remington’s book!

I loved The Legacy so much, I was mesmerized and hooked from the beginning till the end.I fall in love with the story and I find myself intrigued with the plot.
Also the characters were original and realistic.I could feel the tension and the connection between Hayes and Confidence.They have an amazing connection, their love story is something else.They are hot,intense,passionate,sensual and sexy together.
Dylan Allen delivers a fast paced,passionate and hot story with an incredible romance.

THE LEGACY Is a full length standalone romance novel by Dylan Allen. In this we meet Hayes & Confidence
The River’s come from old money, they made their fortune from sugar, oil and natural gas.
By virtue of being a Rivers, you’ll have people who try to get close to you just to use you for money or access something they perceive as a gatekeeper of.
When fourteen year old Hayes’ father dies from a brain tumor it sets the ball rolling and before he knows it he’s been exiled for sixteen years to live with an aunt he’s never met in Italy, Leaving all he knows behind, but it will be where he’ll be safe from his uncle who wants to get his hands on his fortune, now at thirty he’s right back where he belongs, ready to take back his throne.
Being at a wedding he’s only attending on behalf of his Aunt is where he meets Confidence in an elevator, their second meeting doesn’t go down too well, he's been bitten before and pegs her as a gold digger, words are exchanged and things escalate out of control which made for hilarious, unique reading and at this stage I was hooked on the story.
But it's at this wedding that made the perfect setting for these two to meet otherwise their paths wouldn't of crossed in normal circumstances due to them coming from two different worlds, even though their second run in was tumultuous, a situation has her clinging to him and him rescuing her out of the predicament she finds herself in. That was the turnaround, a bond was forged between the two.
Confidence comes from a completely different world than Hayes, raised in a dysfunctional family situation with her mother raising her alongside the town she lived in, and her mother working herself to the bone to allow Constance to go to college. Things don't always run smoothly for Constance, she lands her first job in a prestigious lawyers firm but things there didn't go to plan and she finds herself blacklisted and unemployed. Attending the wedding is her last hurrah before having to move back home to her mothers.
I devoured this, inhaled it, couldn't put it down even if my life depended on it, there was no way in hell I was going to, straight away your pulled into the storyline, you connect with the characters, then you fully fall in love with them, I giggled, I swooned, I loved, I didn't want it to end. Twists and turns, heartbreak and makeups, steamy sexy times that would have even a nun panting after Hayes, dirty, alpha, powerful, arrogant, everything that embodies what us girls like in a book boyfriend. Such a unique, un-put-downable, all-consuming read. Highly recommend this!!

This is Dylan Allen's hottest book! The chemistry between Hayes and Confidence leaps off the page. Gah! These two together are nothing but fire! I loved getting to know them and didn't want their story to end!
In point of fact, the characters make this novel shine. Hayes is larger than life. This is Dylan Allen's hottest book! The chemistry between Hayes and Confidence leaps off the page. Gah! These two together are nothing but fire! I loved getting to know them and didn't want their story to end!
In point of fact, the characters make this novel shine. Hayes is larger than life. I love The Legacy from the get-go and the scene with her on the cliff is my fav. (not really a spoiler).
The Legacy has everything I want in a book: sexy times, hot alpha male, and a smart heroine! Guys . . . Confidence and Hayes's story is EPIC! Hands down, one of my fav reads this year!

5 ‘King & Queen’ Stars.
Characters & Chemistry
Confidence Ryan yes that truly is her name but she got off lightly IMO. Her brothers are called Fortune and Happiness. Let's just say that one wasn’t that fortunate or the other that happy.
Confidence made a mistake. A mistake that unfortunately cost her a lot. Too much. As her last FU to karma she goes to Italy as a plus one before she has to tuck her tail in and head back to Arkansas. Her life is about to change. At the beginning of their meeting I wasn’t sure but by the end of part one I was convinced.
Hayes Rivers is the heir to Kingdom Empire born to lead a legacy. A legacy he isn’t sure to what to do with after his uncle has nearly ruined the family name. Due to a tragic accident he was sent to Italy as a child just until he can take over the reins.
For all his power and the legacy he isn’t sure where he belongs. There was a time or two where I wasn’t a fan of Hayes but overall he is a solid Hero who hasn’t been taught any better. And well in the end he grovelled a lot to get back into the heroines good graces.
I loved the banter of these two the way they met, the way they meshed. Yes Hayes was a dick and yes Confidence was forgiving but they worked through it. Their chemistry was off the charts and I loved how the sex scenes were written. It felt refreshing not the same old lame old stuff. But what I couldn't quite adjust to is her apparent sex kitten ways at the beginning she just seemed perfect the way she was. In a way it felt fake.
Writing, Plot & Pace
I am very impressed by the author’s writing. An easy going yet at times angsty read with a tone set to hit all the highs and all the lows. What is a book without highs and lows. A book needs highs and lows. Hayes and Confidence’s story really come off the pages. The book is split into two parts. Thank God the author didn’t want to make a frigging duet out of it with 2 separate books like all the other authors are doing.
I was a bit confused about the plot at the beginning as it started out about two families the Wildes and the Rivers at the beginning as this is what you got;
Two ruling families in Houston. The Wildes and the Rivers where seeds of resentment burrowed deep into the fertile soil of their dislike and grew tenacious roots. Thirty years later the rivalry continues.
And the Prologue begins with Hayes Rivers and Remington Wilde meeting. I got confused and suddenly thought I was in MM romance but I was WRONG. So all good.
This is a story about finding balancing in life, in treating people no matter how poor they are or what circumstances they are in to treat them with respect. Figuring out what you want to do with the one life that you have. I enjoyed all of it. Okay so maybe Confidence was on that soapbox one too many times but who am I to complain?
The pace is solid and there is never a dull moment but at times there was a lot going on but with the twists and turns which I didn’t see coming I am as a reader a happy camper.
Verdict
This is a new to me author so it could have gone either way. The Legacy is refreshing and I loved every minute of it.
I'd even go so far to say that it is one of my favourites this year.
Yours truly recommends the shite out of this book.
No o/w or o/m drama but there is enough other drama that has it all covered.

Gahhh I loved this book book so damn much oh my god.

Hayes and Confidence completely blew me away. They both know pain, growing up in horrible situations. Their lifestyles are complete opposites but that doesn’t stop either of them. It’s beautiful yet heartbreaking to read. This book is all about those damn feels.
Hayes is strong, determined and slightly obsessive. He’s handsome, loving and at times a complete asshole but he’s the loveable kind, you just can’t help but love him and how protective he can be.
Confidence is smart, beautiful and won’t let any man put her down. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. She’s incredibly strong and I loved her so much for being the badass she is.
Watching these two together is enough to melt your damn panties. It’s hot, super freaking sexy and holy hell, you’ll NEED a cold shower, believe that! They’re fun and irritating at times but put all those together and they’re the absolute perfect kind of couple.
This book, the story, the characters and just everything was so on point.
This is my first read by Dylan Allen and let me tell you this, it definitely won’t be my last. This book has sunk its claws into me and I won’t be forgetting it any time soon that’s for sure. It’s left me NEEDING more from this author and I sure as hell will be going back for more.

What did I just experience??!!!!! OMG!!! In this first installment of the Rivers Wilde series we get the story of Hayes Rivers. The Rivers come from old money and they are one of the most powerful families in Houstan, Texas. Hayes has been away for a while but now it's time for him to claim his place as head of the family. Those in power before him failed to manage Rivers Kindgdom properly and he has a lot of work to make sure his legacy is upheld and passed on to the next generation intact.
Meeting a woman like Confidence was not on his agenda. Hayes is an extremely suspicious man of course. He will always assume a woman is after him because of his wealth and power but he quickly learns that Confidence is different. Confidence is from an extremely humble background and has no money or titles behind her name but I loved the backbone on this woman! She didn't let anyone walk over her and she was proud of where she came from. She didn't take crap from anyone including Hayes.
I love my STRONG heroines!!!
OH MAN! The chemistry with this couple was also OFF THE CHARTS!!! Hayes is a dirty talking alpha, protective and possesive but he is also so so sweet and romanctic.

There is so much family drama in this book with twists and turns as old secrets come to light and the fight for power of Rivers Kingdom ensues. I was constantly entertained and on the edge of my seat. I loved the Texan history that comes out in the book and don't worry it's not too much, just enough make you appreciate this family legacy. I loved this whole world of Rivers Wilde that Dylan Allen created and I can't wait to get the stories of other characters. I already have a favorite character I'm hoping she will write about next but we will see... I highly recommend this one guys! It's so much fun and surely will not disappoint!

The Legacy is the first book in a series revolving the city Rivers Wilde.
Hayes Rivers and Confidence are the two protagonists and together they share wonderful chemistry. Off the charts hot as hell chemistry. I enjoyed how independent she is and her reason for being so. She doesn’t want anything handed to her. She wants it because she’s the right woman for the job and she’s capable. Hayes is the heir to Rivers Kingdom and is back in Houston to claim what is rightfully his.
The story is fast paced which I enjoyed. Hayes makes a mistake regarding Confidence and I reveled in how he tried to make amends to her. He was so sweet, patient and believed in her skills as a lawyer. Confidence doesn’t just roll over when it comes to Hayes. No, he has to work for it. She’s a passionate lawyer and philanthropist who wants to do whatever is possible for the people who’s in need. Together Hayes and Confidence are the perfect team.
The Legacy is as I mentioned the first book in a series and as first book there’s a lot of characters that are introduced. To many in my opinion. Some times I lost focus on the story and the characters.
I really enjoyed The Legacy despite its very minor flaws. I’m definitely going to read the next book in the series. A certain Remington Wilde has caught my eye.

I am enamored with this world Dylan Allen has created. Not only has she given readers a steamy romance but she has crafted a world so real, I wish I could move there. I wish I could visit the places the characters inhabit. I wish I could experience this fictional town. It is a fantastic experience.
Dylan Allen has created one heck of a heroine with Confidence. Sure in who she is, philanthropic and strong in her convictions, Confidence faces the world with strength and integrity.

I personally love when a romance gives me it all.
Dylan has created a wonderful world, and I cannot wait to see where we go next with her. Hello, Remi. I’m looking at you. So many characters, so many secrets revealed. It is sure to be another wild ride.

I am enamored with this world Dylan Allen has created. Not only has she given readers a steamy romance but she has crafted a world so real, I wish I could move there. I wish I could visit the places the characters inhabit. I wish I could experience this fictional town. It is a fantastic experience.
Dylan Allen has created one heck of a heroine with Confidence. Sure in who she is, philanthropic and strong in her convictions, Confidence faces the world with strength and integrity.

I really enjoyed this story for the most part. I did have a few issues and a certain character was way too stubborn for their own good which caused me to be become dangerously irritated and frustrated. Aside from that, I have to put it out there that Hayes is M.I.N.E!!! That man was everything that you could’ve hoped for in a fictional boyfriend and boy did he deliver. I’m not even going to repeat what he did or said because….
This was a good start to a duet and I’m curious to see what’s going to happen next. If you’re looking for a sexy, hot AF read, then this one is for you.

The Legacy is book one of Dylan’s series, Rivers Wilde. It’s a series of standalone. You will find lots of characters in book one and it’s expected since we all need to get to know the members of this community and all the possible main characters in the books to come. Some you will hate from day one and oh how I wanted to punch a particular one on the nose. Some characters will make you double over in laughter, which is a plus in my book. There will be a special someone from another story making an appearance and that part put the biggest smile on my face.
Our main couple here is Hayes Rivers and Confidence Ryan. The originality of the names have mayor points in their favor. I love the uniqueness of those names and the power they exude.
This book is full of banter, secrets, family drama, passion and love to last a lifetime. The connection between Hayes (Her King) and Confidence (His Queen and Tesoro) is undeniable from the very first encounter. Even when they wanted to strangle one another they couldn’t denied their connection. This love story is swooning, captivating, red hot and mesmerizing. They love with everything they have and love even the imperfections of one another as true love should be. Because no real love comes without struggles and cracks.
Confidence is a real woman, a professional, smart, strong, independent and sexy. Is it possible Dylan Allen has raised the bar even higher with The Legacy? Why, yes. She most certainly has.
With each release, she manages to impress me. Her skill and craftsmanship shines from each word. This woman is a true talent, a writer beyond measure. Getting lost within the pages she graciously scribed is an immense gift.
I could feel her love for these characters as I fell for them too. Hayes is legit THE KING. I am still picking my jaw up off the floor over this man. He is so freaking perfect. But Confidence is no shrinking wallflower. She’s powerful and captivating and everything I want to be.

The Legacy was such a great story with intriguing characters. I was hooked from the start, and couldn't wait to see what would happen to them. I especially loved how Hayes and Confidence met, and connected. Hayes was very rude in the beginning, but Confidence was fierce, and definitely knew how to stick up for herself. The attraction was there from the start, but would these two also connect on an intellectual level? YES! Hayes after being betrayed before had found his match. He was a bit hesitant and acted without thinking, which eventually resulted in him finding himself in hot waters. The banter between them was entertaining and very sexy. Confidence was stubborn and definitely made Hayes pay for some of the actions he took with thinking. I also loved how the author raised awareness in this story without it taking over the whole story. It fit perfectly, and also showed another side to Confidence.
"For the love of the most brilliant woman I've ever met. I would spend the rest of my life on my fucking knees."
The Legacy was a complete story. It wasn't just a romance, but it was also a story about family. I loved the unexpected twists and turns, and it has me excited for Dylan's next book. I was expecting a more angsty read when I first read the blurb of The Legacy. However, I immensely loved the atmosphere Dylan created in this book. It was somewhat light-hearted, but it also had a couple of emotional and suspenseful scenes, which I enjoyed a lot. The sensual and sexy scenes were hot, and I couldn't get enough of them. Hayes and Confidence were perfect for each other. The writing was great and had a very nice flow. The pacing of the story was also perfect, it didn't feel or rushed. Dylan gave me more than enough time to fully connect to the characters. The only reason I didn't give this book a 5 star is because I wanted more scenes of the couple together. I am impressed with the groundwork Dylan Allen has laid with this story for upcoming (interconnected) books. I am hoping there will be a lot, because I fell in love with many side characters. She made me feel like I was part of the story, and I could really imagine this beautiful town.

I hate that I didn’t enjoy reading this as much as expected, because it screams everything I want and need—family fortune, inheritance, legacy, secrets and rivalries. For some reason, I expected the female protagonist to be the “other family”, turning this into a delicious forbidden, enemies-to-lovers read.
I started skim reading early on and was tempted to stop reading multiple times. I couldn’t connect with either main character, or find myself invested in their romance. The Legacy is one hundred percent “it’s me, not you.” I can understand why readers enjoyed this—even loved this. While my reasons for not enjoying could be deemed inconsequential, I just couldn’t ignore them.
”I would rearrange the universe to have you.”
Confidence Ryan is an admirable diligent and ambitious character. Her past isn’t easy and despite coming from a very small rural town, she’s worked hard to become a lawyer. While a strong, fierce and independent woman, Confidence is beyond stubborn, it is infuriating and irritating.
I wasn’t enamoured by Hayes Rivers. He is an outright presumptuous and horrible person towards Confidence, belittling her integrity and assuming the rumours regarding her character are accurate. Hayes also reacted to every situation with anger, making him predictable as well as annoying.
"He's my river. I am drowning in him. And I don't want to be rescued."
I found their entire relationship to be… strange, for the lack of finding a better, more suitable word to describe it. Dialogue between them felt repetitive and convoluted. Whenever an argument, most of them petty and childish, ignited, it was filled with melodrama.
You know who had my attention though? Remington Wilde. I can’t wait for his story, The Legend, especially after his introduction during the prologue.

Wow! I am almost freaking speechless after finishing this!!! I know I will never be able to find the words to do this book Justice but I'm gonna try.
Confidence and Hayes are freaking amazing!!!
They are perfectly imperfect!!!
And make the best couple and really fight for what they believe in. They over come some big obstacles and there are some plot twists that I didn't see coming! I was gasping and gripping the edge of my seat.

3.5-4 'Tesoro' Stars!
I think it's been quite a while since I added Dylan Allen's books in my long TBR and I finally found the moment to start one of them. I grabbed The Legacy as a freebie a few weeks ago and I just got right into it. After reading the wonderful reviews I was super excited about it and I have to say I did enjoy it quite a lot. It sure delivered what I expected and what everybody mentioned: a steamy AF and powerful romance, full of surprises and unexpected twists and a couple with a chemistry that burns the pages.
I loved Confidence. She is my favorite character in the book and you'll know why if you have read it. She is a force, a kick-ass heroine with her own opinions and she is not afraid to express them. Together with Hayes, a powerful couple with one heck of a connection. So why this rating? It took me a while to get used to Dylan's writing and sometimes I found myself skimming through the story. Not a lot but still, it took me a while to connect with the writing and the characters. I got really into it towards the end, I am so glad these two got their HEA and now I am definitely curious for the rest of the series!

From the moment Dylan announced the Rivers Wilde world I knew it was going to be unlike anything I read before. I knew it would be special. While reading it the story instantaneously came to life, with beautiful description and ethereal images. The theme and style compelling and romantic. The beginning set in the beautiful landscape of Tuscany where a gorgeous, smart and independent woman meets the tall, dark and mysterious man that is Hayes Rivers. A man who’s face will pop up in the dictionary if you ever search the words masculine, sexy, brooding and loyal. The journey Dylan takes us on is one of laughs, sexy times, and vibrant story telling.
Confidence was my favorite character, her no fucks given attitude is how I wish to live everyday. She felt real and authentic, like someone I could see myself being friends with. Her character is so likable and a real girls girl! She’s a lover and a fighter. Loves her mother and where she comes from. But also fights hard for who she loves and what she believes in. I really admired that about her.
Let me tell you, Dylan Allen knows how to write some good sex. Those scenes were so hot, Hayes gives some real good dirty talk. Like THE BEST. I had to fan myself to cool down numerous times. He’s also really good at saying things that will make you swoon. I need a man like that in my life!!

Dylan has done it again. She's created a world that from the first chapter I was sucked into. She wove an intricate tale that tackled another hard issue that we find ourselves not often thinking about. Be warned this not a slow burn and the characters have plenty of hot, crazy sex. Hayes is a dirty mouth, sex on legs dream. You might want to add him to your book boyfriend harem. And Confidence is heroine that I silently plead for everytime I read. Strong minded, strong willed, and gorgeous!! Overall I was impressed with the story, and I'm grateful each story I read by Dylan is different but equally compelling. She's quickly becoming another author I one click.

The Legacy is a bloody awesome read. I bet you won't be able to stop reading this book. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling off the charts HOT! But let's be real for a moment ok? The storyline is actually quite intriguing too..

Wow, just wow!!! Dylan Allen has blown me away with this book!!! Hayes and Confidence come from two different worlds. Hayes comes from a family of power and money. He's the current keeper of the family's legacy, which almost went to ruin under his uncle's care. Confidence is poor and had a pretty rough childhood. She didn't let any of that stop her though. She is so beyond strong and sassy!! Together, they make one heck of a power couple. They have intense chemistry and they are hot AF together in the bedroom....or wherever they happen to be. This book is full of emotions, it's angsty and it has twists and turns I didn't see coming. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the next book!!

Once again Dylan Allen as amazed me with her words. The way she brings these characters to life and as you drawn in from the start is talent. I have read all of her books and each one is amazing in their own. The Legacy is definitely up there for a top read for me this year.
Hayes and Confidence are not your typical couple and the way they meet and fell for each other isn’t your typical way either. We start with a young Hayes dealing with a lost and finding out somethings. Fast forward years later and we have a older, determined sexy as hell Hayes who’s ready to take over the role of the family lead.
When we meet Confidence right off you can tell she’s not your typical doe-eyes heroine. Yeah she finds Hayes sexy and wants but that’s not what’s she’s all really about. Confidence is a strong and philosophic. She fights for what we wants and what she believes in. She faces the world with strength and integrity. She makes her presence known. Her smart mouth and good heart makes you want see the world in a different light.
These two characters together are definitely on fire in the bedroom but together outside of the bedroom they are down right a powerhouse you don’t want to mess with.
There are many twist and turns you definitely won’t see coming and it will leave you wanting more from these two.

When we meet Confidence right off you can tell she’s not your typical doe-eyes heroine. Yeah she finds Hayes sexy and wants but that’s not what’s she’s all really about. Confidence is a strong and philosophic. She fights for what we wants and what she believes in. She faces the world with strength and integrity. She makes her presence known. Her smart mouth and good heart makes you want see the world in a different light.
These two characters together are definitely on fire in the bedroom but together outside of the bedroom they are down right a powerhouse you don’t want to mess with.
There are many twist and turns you definitely won’t see coming and it will leave you wanting more from these two.
Can’t wait to read more on this series that’s for sure.

Holy Hotness Batman……………………that was scorching HOT!!!!!!!! I need a bucket of ice water dumped on me. This book was sexy personified.
I might possibly have enjoyed this way more than most since most of the story takes place in Houston Texas where I live. All of the references to parts of Houston were really fun to read about.
Confidence is a great heroine. I liked her from the very beginning and then as the story goes on she just simply does not take any crap from anyone. She wasn’t wishy washy and she stood her ground. She had very admirable traits.
This story is exciting, interesting, angsty, SEXY beyond belief and there were even laugh out loud moments.

The Legacy is book 1 in Dylan Allen's new Rivers Wilde series set in Houston, Texas. What to say about this book...I don’t even know where to start! It was beautiful, it was angsty, it was one hell of a ride! Confidence and Hayes are an amazingly strong couple, despite all their differences. They have an unlikely love story for two people from opposite sides of the track! This story was wonderfully written with twists and turns that will leave you gasping for air!

Legacy definitly the best i read from Dylan Allen so far. Love every twist and turn the author woven in this story. Not just about love, Legacy is full of intrigue, secret, betrayel and passion. Plot that worthy of a Kingdom.
İ love how strong Confidence is. She is the vision of a Queen to her King. And Hayes, he is the King in every sense even without the crown.
Love the steamy scenes. Definitly love them. But for me, the hottest thing about Hayes and Confidence is her brain and his fierce love for her.
Legacy definitly a perfect start for up coming awesome saga, i have no doubt about it.

The Legacy is the beginning of a new Series that takes place in Rivers Wilde in Houston, TX.
Dylan doesn't disappoint in this thought provoking, unique story that spans time between the Rivers and Wilde families and their history and secrets.
This story involves Hayes and Confidence who are compelling and relatable characters. I loved how Confidence is strong and true to herself and not ashamed of where she comes from. She is proud of her Southern heritage and her ties to the River near her home town. She is intelligent and self-assured and Hayes is drawn to her not only for her beauty but her feisty nature and her brain! He is leary at first because of his privileged background and that leads to some interesting banter. Their relationship is not only passionate,not to mention H.O.T.! but also one of depth and substance.
Dylan does not disappoint-this is a MUST READ! Kudos to you, Dylan Allen!!

OH. MY. FREAKING. GOODNESS!!!! I'm so in love with Hayes and Confidence! I want to live in their world and be their best friend! From the beginning I was completely invested in their relationship! They pulled me in so quickly! Hayes was everything I knew he would be! And Confidence was so great in the way she dealt with him. There were a couple of great twists that I did NOT see coming! I'm so into this whole world of Rivers Wilde and I can wait to read about more is these characters! Dylan freaking Allen nailed it with this one and has created a world I am so excited to get more of!
